    Specialist: DevSecOps

    Role Purpose/Business Unit:

    • The primary purpose of the role is the implementation and continuous improvement of the DevSecOps programme within Vodacom South Africa, ensuring alignment with the Cyber Health and Adaptive Risk Method (CHARM) control 14.2.5-A DevSecOps. In this role you will work within a team of DevSecOps professionals and collaborate with Secure by Design, Security and Enterprise Architecture and DevOps Teams to:
    • Implement, operation and ongoing improvement of the DevSecOps Security Chapter and Champions model across technology Development teams to create the cultural shift that will underpin the DevSecOps capability.
    • Implement automated scanning tools including SAST, SCA, DAST, and secret scanning and other more advanced security scanning capabilities.
    • Establish and maintain Appsec vulnerability management processes, ensuring critical vulnerabilities are identified, reported, evaluated, prioritized and remediated, to continuously improve the Vodacom’s application security posture.
    • Assist with the standardization and security approval of CI/CD toolchains, ensuring all development tools are compliant with policy, SPDA approved and integrated with ASPM (Application security Posture Management) tool and DevSecOps processes.
    • This role will involve working with Busines unit, Cyber and IT stakeholders in Vodacom South Africa to implement and operate Cyber Security DevSecOps CHARM requirements – Some of these responsibilities may extend to collaboration with Group Cyber Security and other operating companies to ensure that cyber security controls are consistently applied across markets.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    Culture - Security Champions Programme

    • Implementation and ongoing management and improvement of the Security Chapter and Champions programme across technology teams.
    • Ensure every agile DevOps/DevSecOps team has appointed Chapter Leads and Security Champions.
    • Collaborate with DevSecOps Specialists and provide guidance to Cyber Security Officers to ensure they support Chapter Leads and Champions effectively.
    • Facilitate completion and ongoing re-evaluation of DevSecOps Maturity across DevSecOps teams.
    • Drive completion of DevSecOps Learning Pathway for all Chapter Leads and Champions.
    • Facilitate monthly Chapter meetings and feedback sessions to track progress and maturity.
    • Promote a culture of security awareness and collaboration across teams.
    • Track and report on the effectiveness of the Champions model and identify areas for improvement.
    • Support the creation and maintenance of training materials and structured learning paths.

    Security-approved CI/CD Toolchain

    • Drive the migration to a standardised CI/CD pipeline using an Enterprise selected and security approved toolset in collaboration with Enterprise Architecture and Platform Engineering.
    • Discover, Identify and record all DevSecOps tooling being used by Development Teams across the organisation.
    • Maintain an inventory of tools used across teams and ensure compliance with security policies.
    • Collaborate with Platform Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, Cybersecurity and Development Teams to embed security controls in the pipeline and design secure SDLC patterns.
    • Support the implementation of SPDA-approved software applications and extensions.
    • Identified and Discovered DevSecOps tooling should be integrated with ASPM tooling and channelled through SPDA, where applicable or retired for teams to move to approved tooling.
    • Ensure security assessments are passed to and conducted by the Secure by Design on CI/CD pipelines to meet CHARM 14.2.5-A requirements.
    • Provide guidance on secure tool usage and integration across development environments.
    • Automated Scanning, Remediating, and Reporting of Vulnerabilities
    • Assist with the implementation of automated scanning tools including SAST, SCA, DAST, and secret scanning.
    • Support the rollout of scanning capabilities and ensure coverage across all teams.
    • Collaborate with teams to define and implement vulnerability management processes.
    • Develop and maintain real-time/near real-time vulnerability dashboards.
    • Work with Chapter Leads and Champions to continuously improve security posture and maturity.
    • Align vulnerability remediation with DevSecOps maturity to target a state where critical and high vulnerabilities are remediated prior to code release into production environments.
    • Track vulnerability debt and ensure reduction targets are met.

    The ideal candidate for this role will have:

    • 3-year Technical Diploma/Degree in Information Security, Computer Science or Engineering
    • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Cyber Security role
    • Knowledge of common information technology management / compliance frameworks such as ISO/IEC 27001, NIST CSF, ISF, PCI DSS, OWASP, SANS etc.
    • A deep understanding of Technology Security risks and mitigating solutions
    • A diverse security background with knowledge and experience in three or more of the Security Domains including: Security Assessment and Testing; Software Development Security; Security Governance and Risk Management; Security Architecture and Engineering; Communication and Network Security; Identity and Access Management; Security Operations; Asset Security.
    • Specialist experience in either DevSecOps, Application Security, Security Architecture or Offensive Security will be an added advantage.
    • Knowledge of operating systems such as Windows and Linux and how to secure them
    • Knowledge of and/ or experience in creating and managing DevSecOps pipelines practicing CSA, SAST, DAST, and Security as Code will be an added advantage
    • Be well-versed in at least one of the programming languages like Java, PHP, Python, Ruby, and Perl ,or other, so as to collaborate competently with software engineering teams within the organization to identify and implement opportunities for improvement and automation in the CI/CD pipeline.
    • Knowledge of Cloud and container technologies such as AWS/GCP/Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, and how to implement CI/CD pipelines in developer tools such as Gitlab will be an added advantage.
    • Knowledge of configuration management tools such as Chef, Puppet, and Ansible will be an added benefit.

    Executive Head: Record to Report

    Role Purpose/Business Unit:

    • The Executive Head (EHOD) of RTR is a key role within the Vodacom Group Finops Accounting Competence Centre department, which operates within the End-to-End Accounting & Reporting framework of Vodacom Group, serving as a key decision-making authority for strategic accounting judgements and as a nexus for compliance assurance on group level.
    • The EHOD leads the accounting centre of excellence (COE) which serves as a centralised hub overseeing the market-wide holistic appliance of accounting and reporting standards across Vodacom markets. With a broad range of accounting experts, the team is furthermore owning and evolving the global Record to Report (RTR) process frameworks.

    Accounting Centre of Excellence & Governance

    • Establishes and enforces compliance parameters by owning the governance of RTR-related Vodafone Group Standard Operating Procedures (“VGFOPS”) and Vodacom Group Policies, ensuring consistency, accuracy, transparency, excellence and compliance across all accounting functions
    • Develops overarching robust compliance governance frameworks to assure guidance and adherence for key compliance processes (such as Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Accrual Governance and others) and streamline data aggregation and reporting processes, supporting strategic decision-making at both local and organizational levels.
    • Collaborates closely with the Vodacom Group Finance IFRS team to align accounting policy, judgement and application.

    • Efficiently own and manage the RTR Roadmap and strategic vision, skilfully prioritizing strategic key accounting initiatives and demands across Vodafone.
    • Leads a team of accounting experts, with a deep understanding of international and local reporting standards and a broad range of expertise in Financial-Accounting, -Reporting, -Controls & -Compliance.

    Specialist Unbranded Channel

    Role Purpose/Business Unit:

    • Drive revenue and customer growth through the usage of Vodacom’s Products and Services across the unbranded channels within a geographical area. Manage and maintain the relationship with respective trade and channel partners, the internal organisation, and suppliers.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Manage the unbranded channel stores (NC/WH/AD’s/Informal stores) within a geographical location
    • First line escalation from trade partners (customer queries) – ECLO
    • Manage field marketing agency by ensuring operational compliance and excellence – retail pricing compliance, comparative pricing reporting, availability of stock, updated deals, campaigns & branding
    • Achieving specific sales and customer service targets and objectives aligned to the unbranded regional strategy.
    • Stakeholder relationships across national chains, wholesalers, alternative distributors and informal trade partners.

    Key Responsibilities

    • To implement the Unbranded Channel strategy and roadmap, to ensure maximum sales return and exposure.
    • Attention and focus to be given to unbranded channels including National Chains, Wholesalers, Alternative distributors, spazas, traders, street hawkers, etc., mainly within the informal market.
    • Establish and maintain relationships with informal traders and spaza operators on behalf of Vodacom to enable improved understanding and establish greater understanding of evolving consumer trends and behaviours.
    • Ensure implementation and success of new products and services and identify opportunities to drive product awareness.
    • Measure, Analyse and Report on a monthly basis on key activities, findings, learnings and areas of improvement and identify opportunities to improve sales and service that will positively impacts revenues, market share and customer experience.
    • Create a monthly call cycle that outlines the store visits of both NC and informal stores, including partnership meetings on a monthly basis.

    Role Purpose/Business Unit:

    Your responsibilities will include:

    Vodacom Digital library Operations & Quality Assurance 

    • Assume overall responsibility for the running of the Vodacom Digital library:
    • Core operational oversight, ensuring systems, access, and content are maintained and optimised
    • Ensure the delivery of high-quality information and research services to meet evolving business needs

    Senior Specialist: Management Reporting

    Role Purpose:

    • Support the VSA finance team by driving the delivery of accurate, timely, and insightful financial and operational performance reporting, by preparing monthly and quarterly reporting packs across actuals, budgets, and forecasts for both internal and Group stakeholders.
    • Tracking and maintaining the run rate risks and opportunities against the forecasts and budget and aligning these with the Finance Business Partners views.
    • The role further provides support to the Investor Relations team, with performance insights and commentary, and the Regulatory teams on data requests and reconciliations to officially reported financial results.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    Drive the reporting of monthly and quarterly operational performance scorecards    

    Drive the reporting of various Strategic and Operational Scorecards that is used for performance reviews:

    • Definition agreement with BI/MI/FBP
    • Monthly tracking of P1 targets
    • Quarterly reporting of P2 targets
    • Quarterly reporting of Strategic KFI's

    Support the Board & FRCC reporting process     

    Support the VSA Board and FRCC preparation and reporting process through:

    • Co-ordination of all FD submitted reports
    • Results commentary
    • Forecast/ Budget/LRP commentary

    Drive and manage the Budget/Forecast reporting packs     

    Drive the Budget / Forecasts reporting packs in terms of:

    • Co-ordinating with all the stakeholders on deliverables timeline
    • Consolidate all business units inputs 
    • Preparation of the review packs for various review – VF CEO, AMAP Region, etc.

    Support with the Investor Relations results preparation    

    Support the results preparations process by working closely with the Investor relations team on the following:

    • Insights and analysis on the results
    • Coordinate inputs from various stakeholders 
    • Normalisation calculations
    • Messages / Commentary review

    Support the  long range planning modelling for Vodacom South Africa    

    Support the EHOD with LRP modelling:

    • Model all the various elements of the business, like long range plan the various acceleration initiatives, changes to the business plans from the factors like pricing, regulatory changes, competitive changes, new technology evolution, etc. 

    Support with strategic business cases    

    Support during the strategy preparation phase with:

    • Coordinate and consolidate the various strategic business cases
    • Drive analysis on the numbers and provide insights for decision making
    • Provide insights based on the business cases into the LRP process

    Other responsibilities    

    Support the team with various other responsibilities such as:

    • Support for new VF MI change requests
    • Support for definition alignment across business

    Specialist VB Finance Business Partner

    Role Purpose:

    • To ensure that key commercial objectives of the Vodacom Business Sales team are met with respect to Reporting, Profitability, Performance and overall finance and decision support.
    • To provide reporting insights and analysis for sales and commercial teams and manage the month-end processing of accounting adjustments (in SAP) and overall month-end review of business unit performance across various revenue and cost lines.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    Specialist: Secure By Design

    Role Purpose/Business Unit:

    • The primary purpose of the role is to work within a team of Secure by Design and Security Architecture professionals, in collaboration with the Privacy and Business Risk Teams to Perform Secure by Design Assessments against Vodacom policies and standards. In performing this role you will
    • Identify potential cyber security risks for new products, services and operations and identify controls to minimise, mitigate or remove those privacy and security risks;
    • Review Design and implementation of the identified controls to ensure they are built into the product (at Design & Build stages);
    • Provide assurance that privacy and security controls have been implemented before the product goes “live” and product complies with Vodacom/Vodafone Security requirements and applicable laws (at Test & Go-Live stages);
    • Assess security and privacy risks arising from changes to existing live products that impact the processing of personal data (In-Life); and
    • Ensuring security and privacy risks are addressed when decommissioning these products (Decommissioning).
    • You will also be required to drive the delivery of Cyber Security strategy and maturity improvement or risk reduction initiatives into the business unit(s) to which you will be assigned, monitor progress against agreed targets with the objective of safeguarding Vodacom Infrastructure and customer data from Cyber threat actors. 
    • This role will involve working with Business unit, Cyber and IT stakeholders in Vodacom South Africa to drive out Cyber Security baseline requirements – Some of these responsibilities may extend to collaboration with Group Cyber Security and other operating companies to ensure that cyber security controls are consistently applied across market

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Provide technology security assurance, guidance and support to high profile projects,
    • Ensure security is embedded in IT System and Network Infrastructure (Mobile, IS and Enterprise) across the Vodacom Group

    • Assist to compile a report of information security risks in an appropriate way for different audiences.
    • Develop, manage and maintain an information security incident management capability.
    • Collaborate with various key stakeholders, and provide information security advice to stakeholders

    Together with CSO team advise on Security decisions for the Agile Team to which you have been assigned and guide the identified Security Champions to imbed security within the CI/CD pipeline. This will include coaching or guiding them:

    • Support product and service development with Secure by Design expertise
    • Alert Cyber Security to security incidents following Vodafone Standards for reporting.
    • Report on risk and compliance levels for relevant product and services
    • Provide input into the definition of the Secure by Design blueprints, patterns and design principles to support product and service development
    • Give teams recommendations for remediation of vulnerabilities or weaknesses in products or services
    • Give overall guidance on different security activities across Agile teams

    The ideal candidate for this role will have:

    • 3 year Technical Diploma/Degree in Information Security, Computer Science or Engineering
    • Working towards an industry certification. The CISSP is strongly preferred, however CCSP, OSCP, CISM, CISA or other relevant certifications will be considered. Security/IT Architecture qualifications such as SABSA, TOGAF etc and relevant security architecture experience will be an added advantage
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Cyber Security role
    • Knowledge of common information technology management / compliance frameworks such as ISO/IEC 27001, NIST CSF, ISF, PCI DSS, OWASP, SANS etc.
    • An understanding of Technology Security risks and mitigating solutions
    • A diverse security background with knowledge and experience in three or more of the Security Domains including: Security Assessment and Testing; Software Development Security; Security Governance and Risk Management; Security Architecture and Engineering; Communication and Network Security; Identity and Access Management; Security Operations; Asset Security.
    • Knowledge of operating systems such as Windows and Linux and how to secure them
    • Knowledge of Cloud and container technologies such as AWS/GCP/Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, and how to implement developer tools such as GitHub and Dependency management will be an added advantage.
    • Knowledge or experience in either, DevSecOps, Application Security, Security Architecture or Offensive Security will be an added advantage.

    Project Leader

    Role Purpose/Business Unit:

    • To ensure regional Transmission and Radio Access Network projects are completed according to set schedules and within budget by liaising with different role players, applying sound project management principles and reporting on progress.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • To manage all aspects of Transmission and Radio Access Network roll-out and upgrade projects

    Property Specialist: Regional Operations

    Role Purpose/Business Unit:

    • End to end project coordination to ensuring that projects relating to DAS’s and 3rd party properties are completed on time, within budget, and to the prescribed standards. Effective stakeholder management, with vendors, internally, and with the customer is vital.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • To coordinate all aspects of third-party approvals within the business, this includes but is not limited to new BTS, site & power upgrades, and site hardening.
    • Ensure that approvals are completed on time, and to the prescribed quality standards (TCQ)
    • Lease Negotiation with landlords for new sites e.g. EBU sites
    • To effectively coordinate with different internal and external stakeholders to ensure approvals and other projects are completed in line with TCQ (time, quality and cost) objectives
    • Execute projects per defined project governance methodology including milestones, management of risk, reporting, and communication
    • To ensure data is updated and that data integrity is maintained on all internal databases in order to track progress on projects as well as to report monthly on all aspects
    • Implement & manage site acquisition processes for new DAS installations, new shared sites and all site upgrades
    • To ensure operational process and control problems specific to leases and rentals are identified, resolved and managed in a timely manner.
    • Identify risks within the regional leases and rental environment for 3rd party lease and refer to NNP team
    • Identify initiatives to improve processes and deliver operational efficiencies (e.g automations)
    • Handle escalation queries around 3rd party and DAS site Access and out of service sites (electricity and/or hardware)

    The ideal candidate for this role will have:

    • Relevant 3 year Technical Qualification in Build or Town planning environment, - Degree/Diploma/ N6 National Diploma (essential)
