    Group Executive (Extractive Metallurgy Cluster) Re-Advert

    Job description

    Leadership

    • Live the Mintek values, foster a culture of collaboration within Mintek.

    Strategy

    • Drive the Cluster RDI strategy and operations, support the Cluster business development and commercialization and ensure the execution of strategic programmes.

    Financial sustainability

    • Drive the Cluster financial sustainability through effective operations
    • Balance the RDI portfolio funding and commercial targets as agreed in the Cluster
    • Ensure that there are effective collaborations between Clusters to ensure that targets are met.
    • Ensure that the Cluster revenue streams are diverse.

    People and planning

    • Ensure that the core RDI Cluster and Divisional plans are aligned with Mintek’s strategy and the needs of the Cluster market.
    • Ensure that the Cluster and Divisions are adequately resourced, with a particular focus on SET staff and resources.
    • Ensuring succession planning.
    • Drive the transformation agenda in the Cluster.
    • Contribute to the refinement and development of the Mintek strategy and plans.

    Performance management

    • Deliver on the Cluster KPI’s.
    • Undertake performance management for the Cluster.
    • Ensure that systems and tools are in place to monitor and measure the delivery of RDI activities.

    Governance and Risk

    • Risk identification and implementation of management plans and actions for the Cluster’s operations and RDI activities, including SHEQ and Enterprise Risk Management.
    • Adhere to all Mintek’s policies and ethics.

    Relationship management and reporting

    • High level stakeholder engagement, including stakeholder management and satisfaction for both internal and external stakeholders.
    • Reporting on all RDI projects in the Cluster from own management information.
    • Commercialisation and technology transfer management.

    Qualification:

    • Masters in a relevant scientific or engineering field relating to the Cluster Divisions (i.e. Biometallurgy, Hydrometallurgy, Pyrometallurgy).
    • Ideal: PhD in a relevant scientific or engineering field relating to the Cluster Divisions (i.e. Biometallurgy, Hydrometallurgy, Pyrometallurgy).

    Experience:

    • At least 10 years’ experience in research or knowledge-based organisations, of which 5 years must be in a senior research management position in RDI and / or commercialisation.
    • Significant relevant industry knowledge and experience.
    • Experience in managing people.
    • Track record in leading commercialisation of RDI outputs.
    • Experience in national and international business engagement and operations management.

    Application Support Analyst

    Job description

    The following activities are related to the systems specified below:

    • SharePoint 2016 (with Nintex Workflow and Nintex/InfoPath forms)
    •  SharePoint Online (with Microsoft Power Platform for workflow and forms)

    Development Responsibilities

    Requirement Analysis:

    • Gather and analyze business requirements through collaboration with stakeholders.
    • Create functional specifications and documentation.

    System Development:

    • Develop new, or enhance existing, processes, workflows, and forms.

    Testing and Quality Assurance:

    • Develop unit tests, integration tests, and system tests to ensure the quality of developments.
    • Conduct reviews and peer testing sessions to identify and fix issues.

    Documentation:

    • Create and maintain technical documentation for system architecture, APIs, workflows, and user guides.
    • Document process design with comments and maintain a version-controlled repository.

    Deployment:

    • Prepare and execute deployment plans, including rollback strategies.

    Performance Optimization:

    • Monitor system performance and identify bottlenecks.
    • Optimize design and database queries for efficiency and scalability.

    Support Responsibilities

    Technical Support:

    • Provide first-level support for end-users experiencing issues with developed systems.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems in a timely manner.

    Incident Management:

    • Log, track, and manage incidents using ticketing systems.
    • Prioritize incidents based on severity and impact on business operations.

    System Monitoring:

    • Monitor application performance and availability using monitoring tools.
    • Respond to alerts and notifications for system outages or performance degradation.

    Maintenance and Upgrades:

    • Regularly update and patch software to maintain security and functionality.
    • Implement system upgrades and enhancements based on user feedback and evolving requirement

    User Training:

    • Conduct training sessions for end-users to improve system understanding and efficiency.
    • Create user manuals and training materials to facilitate knowledge transfer.

    Collaboration with IT Teams:

    • Work closely with system administrators, network engineers, and ICT support teams.
    • Participate in cross-functional meetings to discuss system improvements and user needs.

    Feedback Collection:

    • Gather feedback from users to understand system limitations and areas for improvement.
    • Analyze user behavior and system usage metrics to inform development.

    Incident Reporting and Analysis:

    • Prepare incident reports and conduct root cause analysis for recurring issues.
    • Develop solutions or workarounds to prevent future incidents.

    Compliance and Security

    • Ensure that developed systems adhere to security best practices and compliance standards.
    • Collaborate with security teams to conduct vulnerability assessments.

    Change Management:

    • Participate in change management processes to assess risks associated with system changes.
    • Communicate changes and updates to relevant stakeholders

    Additional Responsibilities

    Research and Development:

    • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.
    • Experiment with new tools and methodologies to enhance system performance and development processes.

    Minimum requirements

    QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor's degree in software engineering, Computer Science, Information technology, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Computer Studies or equivalent 
    • 2 – 5 years minimum relevant experience
    • Training required :Relevant system certification, e.g. relevant to SharePoint Online and Microsoft Power Platform.
