    Group Infrastructure & Operations Lead - Johannesburg

    Minimum Requirements

    • Relevant degree or equivalent NQF level 7 and above in information technology or Computer Science is required
    • Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools
    • Possession of relevant certifications such as ITIL,  or Six Sigma would be advantageous
    • Comfortable working with ambiguity where persuasion and relationships are just as important as direction and task.
    • Able to fully embrace and support the unique Nando’s culture – Cultural alignment is vital.
    • Self-motivated and self-directing comfortable working with remote management.
    • Comfortable working in a global environment with people based in other countries and across time zones.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Third-Party Relationship Management:

    • Cultivate and maintain productive relationships with third-party partners to uphold service level agreements (SLAs) and performance standards.
    • Conduct regular performance evaluations and collaborate with vendors to drive continual enhancements.
    • Continually ensure value for money in all services being delivered.
    • Lead the negotiations for third party contracts from time to time, ensuring competitive cost assessments and benchmarking.
    • Community Engagement and sustaining culture
    • Establish and nurture a community of interest focused on Infrastructure and Operations, promoting collaboration and knowledge exchange among global Markets.
    • Create a willing coalition across markets to drive further service consolidation into South Africa where it makes sense to do so from an operational, commercial and/or changing lives perspective.

    Roadmap Development:

    • Formulate and lead the deployment of a strategic roadmap of initiatives for migrating additional services to South Africa where it makes sense to do so, aligning with overarching business goals, and backed with robust business cases. Obtaining the buying from Market CIO’s and working with them to ensure a smooth and effective transition.
    • Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation to streamline operations and bolster service delivery.
    • Continually review operations, process and capability to ensure the cost-effective deployment of labour. Taking every opportunity to drive continuous service improvement.

    Global Service Management:

    • Ensure compliance with global service management standards and protocols, encompassing incident management, problem resolution, change management, and service transition.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address escalated issues and mitigate risks effectively.

    Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

    • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics pertinent to all relevant service operations, pinpointing areas for improvement and proactively implementing corrective actions.
    • Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior leadership, offering insights into service performance and outlining achievements and challenges.
    • Actively track and report on Benefits achieved within your responsibilities.

    Reporting line and team collaboration

    • Reporting into the group head of Technology based in the UK, the role holder must be comfortable with being managed remotely and act as part of a global group team.
    • Working constructively with Peers in the group technology team especially the Global head of technology delivery and the group CISO.
    • Work collaboratively with in Market IT leadership teams and local service delivery teams. Engaging them in constructive debate to identify opportunities and making the case for change.

    Research and Development Packaging Technologist - Feitoria

    Minimum Requirements

    • Diploma in Food Technology, Biotechnology, or related field.
    • At least a minimum 2 years in a Research and Development role in Food manufacturing industry and or quality assurance and research and development.
    • PC Literate:  word,  excel,  power point,  SAP
    • Good knowledge of packaging equipment and materials

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Factory Trials 

    • Assist the Packaging Manager with factory trials,  ensuring packaging is on site
    • Ensure timeous delivery,  testing and approval  of pre-production packaging samples.
    • Support product development by testing appropriate packaging materials  etc
    • Ensure the trial  is completed based on packaging specifications
    • Conduct appropriate tests e.g.  stack and travel.
    • Draw up accurate pallet configurations on Cape Pack & ensure these are tested prior to launch/production

    Quality Assurance/Quality  Control  Support

     

    • Investigate  packaging complaints in assistance to QA to prevent packaging/component  rejections  and to assist suppliers in improving  these packaging elements.
    • Compiling NGM packaging specifications for each new product including  supplier specifications,  technical drawings and component samples.
    • Preparing and provision of all packaging standards to QA/QC, to be used as visual on line  standards.
    • Assist QA/QC  in checking and approval of delivered packaging components by comparing first deliveries of new packaging to approved pre-production  samples and approved specifications.

    Assist in packaging evaluation tests

     

    • Conduct various tests on new materials/substrates  under different conditions and manufacturing processes for e.g.  leakage,  heat retention,  impact resistance tests,  product/packaging  interaction  or compatibility,  stress-crack resistance,  stack & travel,  etc
    • Material evaluation:  testing,  analysis and reporting of results and conclusions,  including  the methodology used to assure packages are evaluated for food safety  and compatibility,  mechanical functionality,  and material  adequacy.

    Assist in the collation,  updating and database maintenance of the following for the factory:

    • packaging material specifications;
    • on line visual finished product specifications;
    • packaging data QC catalogue/manual,
    • Updated QC label colour standards & artwork proofs
    • Packaging Bill of Material database;
    • Assist in  development,  maintenance,  and management of an electronic image  library  of artwork,  die trace/works map,  product/packaging  images,  labels  etc
    • Obtain label and ITF  barcode label samples from factory,  ensure QC files are updated with  all changes
    • Update and maintain in  house printed labels  and database for the factory

    Assist in  CCI  projects

    • Assist in value analysis  initiatives  to reduce packaging costs

    Payroll Supervisor - Johannesburg

    Minimum Requirements

    • Diploma or equivalent NQF level 6 qualification in payroll or equivalent
    • Driver’s License
    • Own vehicle
    • 3 -5 years of experience in Time and Attendance administration and payroll administration

    Knowledge 

    • Knowledge of labour legislation (Advanced)

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Casas month end procedures

    • Coordinate the weekly EFT run
    • Review and sign-off on reconciliation of third party and
    • Garnishee payments on the Nandoca profile as well as the reconciliation of the cashbook
    • Verify all payroll appointments, contract changes and terminations conducted by Payroll Administrator
    • Generate Hours report and leave import from Kronos to import into Payroll.

    Reporting and reconciliation

    • Review pay slips monthly
    • Review movements/terminations/appointments report monthly
    • Create monthly Short hours and overtime report
    • Create monthly Permanent Part time report
    • Review and report on weekly Time and Attendance scheduling
    • Prepare the Weekly Time Detail report for management
    • Review bank detail changes  monthly basis
    • Reconcile and import airtime vouchers
    • Complete monthly comparison and reporting on prior vs current month financial information
    •  Generate a Weekly Comprehensive Audit report from the Time and Attendance system to audit and report on timecard sign-off removals

    Monthly and yearly reconciliation

    • Complete monthly and yearly financial payroll reconciliations

    System and general administration

    • Create Access profiles on the Time and Attendance system
    • Resolve issues relating to the Time and Attendance system
    • Log queries regarding the Time and Attendance system failures
    • Ensure the overall health of system
    • Respond to all escalated queries and requests
    • Perform any ad-hoc duties required by the manager, including relieving sub-ordinates or Payroll Manager as and when required

    People management

    • Monitor team schedules and delegate tasks in order to ensure that the department’s operational requirements are met
    • Actively manage the performance and potential of the Payroll and Time and Attendance team, providing on-the-job training, upskilling, coaching, mentorship and leadership to support problem solving, assess productivity and recommend changes where required
    • Work with the People Team in dealing with grievances and disciplinary issues and ensure their effective resolution
    • Create an engaged and motivated workforce by establishing an environment that fosters collaboration through effective communication, trust, enjoyment, wellbeing, learning and development
    • Partner with the Payroll Administrators and Time and Attendance team to set personal development goals and provide feedback on a regular basis to build capability
