    Ops Chargehand (Fixed Term) (Limpopo)

    Description

    • Assist mine personnel on on-the-job training (Technical support on DDS™ equipment & Charging-up).
    • Provide information regarding Health & Safety of Enaex equipment to mine and Enaex employees.
    • Assist mine personnel on on-the-job training (Technical support on DDS™ equipment & Charging-up).
    • Assist Service Technician in maintenance of DDS™ Equipment.
    • Density checks and records.
    • Day to day inspections and minor repairs on DDS™ equipment.
    • Oversee mine trained employee to do daily checklist. Mine employee to hand checklist to his mine supervisor.
    • First responder to breakdowns (All minor issues on shift).
    • Reporting on levels of DDS™ emulsions and delivery dates for emulsion.
    • Offloading of the DDS ™ delivery tanker & weighbridge notes sign.
    • Reporting on spares used and stock level to Service Technician.
    • Report of spillages to mine personnel to arrange for clean-up.
    • Report status of good housekeeping around silos to mine.
    • Daily reporting of findings in underground workings to Section Mine Overseer / Shift boss / Miner with regards to  - charging-up and drilling on the working areas he visited.
    • Communication with service Technician on status of DDS™ equipment.
    • Breakdown reports and feedback to M/O , HFO , Service Technician.
    • Follow up on recommendations and implementation of proposals.
    • Identify incorrect charging up practices.
    • Conduct blast surveys according to the designed criteria.
    • Demonstrate the charging up and connecting of all Enaex explosives products.
    • Apply the use of the product as per the product application training.
    • Apply the safe handling, storage and transport of explosives.
    • Ensure correct PPE is used, as well as that PPE is in good condition and correctly worn/used.
    • Maintain housekeeping of work area.
    • Identify workplace hazards and associated risks and deal with it appropriately (Hirac & Risk Assessment).
    • Knowledge of relevant hand tools.
    • Knowledge of emergency procedures.
    • Comply with the Mine’s safety and health procedures.
    • Attend the mine’s induction training.
    • Maintain basic safety, health and environmental issues.
    • Assess the product application practices.
    • Identify incorrect product application practices.
    • Demonstrate and coach the correct practices.
    • Adhere to Enaex code of practice and procedures.
    • Adhere to mine Health & Safety requirements.

    Requirements

    Qualifications:

    • Grade 12
    • Underground Blasting Assistant Certificate and Competent B for underground (Advantage)
    • N2 electrical or mechanical (advantage)
    • Basic Computer skills
    • Valid medical fitness certificate for UG Mines

    Experience:

    • 2-3 years working experience in underground (advantage)

    Site Supervisor (Limpopo)

    Description

    • Implement the unit operations plan by understanding key activities, projects, and performance indicators; communicating objectives to relevant stakeholders; and monitoring execution on a daily basis.   
    • Report on performance by tracking unit outcomes against targets, identifying progress and areas of concern, drafting detailed reports (type of reports and how are the reports drafted, and submitting them quarterly or as required. 
    • Manage unit performance by continuously monitoring results, detecting anomalies, and executing corrective actions on a monthly basis or as operational needs arise 
    • Contribute and adhere to Employment Equity requirements 
    • Manage the implementation of unit business processes by monitoring compliance, identifying process anomalies, and executing corrective actions as required.

    • Drive effective utilisation and continuous development of unit systems
    • Align operational plans with site priorities by coordinating production planning and scheduling activities. 
    • Managing the end-to-end flow of materials, including ordering, transportation, storage, and distribution. 
    • Oversee equipment and product maintenance by maintaining accurate inventories, coordinating procurement, tracking usage and condition. 
    • Manage explosive-related incidents through timely investigations, initiation of emergency response protocols, stakeholder coordination, and formal incident reporting. 
    • Achieve targeted face advancement by developing detailed blasting plans in collaboration with engineers and geologists, and scheduling blasting activities in line with mining and production targets.
    • Supervise full blasting services and down-the-hole operations, including on-site maintenance of MMUs and related equipment, ensuring proper execution and daily operational compliance. 
    • Ensure daily operational compliance with Enaex work instructions by applying a thorough understanding of guidelines and implementing appropriate controls. 
    • Oversee employee training programs, particularly Planned Task Observations (PTOs), by understanding work instructions, assessing the work instructions and organising sessions to close the gaps, and reporting on outcomes monthly. 
    • Maintain contractor pack compliance by understanding regulatory requirements, sourcing and updating documentation to ensure monthly compliance. 
    • Execute risk assessments and apply mitigation measures as part of the safety management system, ensuring consistent adherence to standards. 
    • Manage PPE stock and usage by maintaining inventory levels, processing orders, and enforcing compliance with PPE protocols. 
    • Oversee stock management by integrating raw material planning with production schedules and ensuring effective inventory control systems
    • Ensure effective implementation of SHE by delivering comprehensive training, completing training programs, and addressing any identified gaps or non-compliance. 
    • Monitor SHE performance by establishing clear standards, ensuring timely completion of monitoring activities, and resolving issues within defined deadlines. 
    • Maintain ongoing SHE compliance by reviewing current practices, identifying deviations, and correcting them within established timelines. Build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders by facilitating regular communication, exchanging feedback, and supporting collaboration. 
    • Manage service provider performance by tracking service level agreements, monitoring delivery against standards, identifying issues, and applying corrective actions when necessary. 

    Requirements

    • Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent  
    • BSc or B Eng in Mining Engineering or similar 
    • Driver’s license 
    • Explosives Management qualifcation (Advantageous)
    • 5+ years relevant mining / explosives industry experience
