    Senior Manager - Strategy and Transformation Group Strategy and Transformation

    Responsibilities

    The Senior Manager Strategy and Transformation will be accountable to achieve the following objectives:

    • Project Delivery
    • Define the workstream scope required to achieve a given set of program objectives. This will require the translation of program objectives and milestones into an actionable set of deliverables in consultation with the relevant business unit subject matter experts
    • Create the detailed work plan to deliver the scope of the workstream
    • Achieve buy-in for the scope and plans developed from key stakeholders to secure the resources and funds to deliver with the support of the Principal Consultant
    • Work within and contribute to the governance framework of the program 
    • Lead the delivery of the workstream from inception to handover to business units responsible to operationalised and take ownership, facilitate the required change management and capability building needed in the handover process
    • Define the measures of success and ensure reporting during delivery and post implementation performance and sustainability management is completed as per the applicable performance management framework
    • Ensure adherence to project budgets and schedules
    • Identify and manage risks which will impact program delivery and communicate risks to all relevant stakeholders
    • Build subject matter expertise on workstream topics and be able to succinctly drive to and articulate key insights in a structured manner both verbally and in writing
    • Manage and develop teams:
    • Plan and resource workstreams with the balance required to deliver effectively, while adhering to program budgets and creatively engage resources to manage resource constraints that may arise within the business
    • Effectively allocate the scope of work between one’s self, external contractors and business line talent
    • Develop the program delivery, technical and soft skills of the program team members and one’s self
    • Build MTN’s overall program execution capability
    • Contribute to the knowledge repository for cross functional and cross market knowledge share - compile and constantly refine the MTN delivery playbook
    • Perform post mortems of strategic programs to enable continuous improvement
    • Improve and standardise the quality and effectiveness of relevant key projects’ performance management processes
    • Uphold the MTN values in the performance of one’s duties and role model the values for colleagues
    • Implement and improve tools, processes and people management techniques to build the overall capacity to deliver, the ability to track progress and impact to manage risks
    • Serve as a subject matter expert on workstreams outside of one’s portfolio and share best practices learnt with other program leads and teams
    • Build a culture and capability of continuous improvement in the Group Team and in the organisation more broadly 
    • Accountable for controlling and managing Capex and Opex spend for the Group Transformation Office

    Qualifications
    Education:

    • Minimum 4-year Academic Degree
    • Post graduate qualification 
    • MBA/CA/Masters advantageous 

    Experience:

    • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in a global management consulting or multinational business environment
    • Significant experience delivering complex programs and running multiple simultaneous workstreams
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory / managerial role with accountability for overall work product of the team under management 
    • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the telecommunications industry working with or consulting for telco operators or their strategic suppliers
    • Work across diverse cultures and geographies
    • Proven track record of delivery

    • Leadership skills: Ability to get along with, listen to, speak to, and manage people’s expectations. Strong communication skills at all levels and the ability to easily collaborate with teams, internal / external stakeholders with or without formal reporting relationships
    • Problem Solving skills: Analytical and critical thinking are essential in evaluating problems and reaching solutions. This skill requires at times logical methodical approach and in other situations creativity and lateral thinking. Persuasion and negotiation will be also important. 
    • Execution and Implementation Skills:  Reliability, results-oriented, proven track record of delivery and can-do attitude

    Senior Manager - ESG Impact and Reporting Sustainability

    Responsibilities

    The Senior Manager: ESG Impact & Reporting will be accountable to achieve the following objectives:

    • Lead relevant stakeholder engagement with various teams to align strategic reporting efforts with disclosure priorities, goal setting, and programmatic development.
    • Implement the Group’s ESG transparency & disclosure procedures, and mechanisms.
    • Deliver MTN’s suite of ESG reports and publications in alignment with international standards, incorporating UN SDG contribution and True Value assessment (reports include Sustainability, Transparency, GRI, UNGC, CDP etc.).
    • Enhancing MTN’s ESG performance across various indexes and ratings agencies, including Sustainalytics, MSCI, FTSE, Bloomberg, S&P Global and others - through gap assessments, intervention development and continuous performance tracking.
    • Enhance and monitor the Group’s overall ESG performance indicators and setting up of continuous assurance process working with Group Internal Audit & Forensics.
    • Ensure ESG Index linked to Short-Term and Long-Term incentives are tracked and audited on a periodical basis.
    • Responding to ESG Investor queries and support reporting requirements working with Group Investor Relations.
    • Support investment teams in their engagement with external stakeholders on ESG and Impact matters, including assisting with due diligence assessments.
    • Implement, and oversee ESG knowledge and data management processes, systems, and database.
    • Implement ESG learning modules and programmes for management, staff, and suppliers to entrench ESG into the culture of the organisation.
    • Ensure MTN’s monthly and quarterly reporting to Group Board, Social and Ethics Committee and Executive Committee and other management reporting.
    • Benchmark disclosure practices, conduct ESG gap analyses, and make recommendations for enhancements in policies, programs, and disclosure.
    • Work cross functionally to engage, track, and advise on a broad set of ESG topics with related KPIs and deliverables.
    • Translate ESG issues into compelling narratives for issue briefs, status reports and other communications.
    • Co participate in shaping the external narrative on complex social impact and responsibility topics, partnering with multiple internal stakeholders.
    • Track emerging ESG developments and market intelligence of strategies in order to address them across the business and their impact on global impact strategy.
    • Maintain visibility throughout the broader organization on the ESG and Impact performance of the business and portfolio as well as serve as the business advocate internally for communicating this key value.

    Education:

    • Relevant certification / accreditation / membership with professional body as required for role

    Experience:

    • Manager track record of 5 years or more; with at least 3 years in relevant sector / industry/ area of specialisation   
    • Relevant sector, industry, or area of specialisation experience (understanding emerging markets advantageous).
    • Worked across diverse cultures and geographies.
    • Experience working in a medium to large organization would be advantageous.
    • Experience with ESG reporting standards and frameworks, e.g., SASB, GRI, TCFD, and experience producing ESG reporting and disclosures content for a global audience and different stakeholders.
    • Strong command of the ESG subject matter and landscape and able to demonstrate sector expertise.
