    Accountant

    Job Overview:

    • A dynamic and growing company in Klerksdorp is seeking a qualified Accountant with completed articles (SAIPA, SAICA, or CIMA).
    • The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing the financial operations of the company, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing strategic insights to support business decisions.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including monthly management accounts and year-end financials.
    • Manage the full accounting function, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable.Conduct monthly reconciliations of bank accounts, debtors, and creditors.
    • Prepare VAT, PAYE, and other statutory returns in compliance with local regulations.
    • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, and monitor financial performance against budgets.
    • Provide timely and accurate financial reporting and analysis to management for decision-making purposes.
    • Oversee payroll processing and ensure accurate submissions to relevant authorities.
    • Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets.
    • Liaise with external auditors and ensure all audit requirements are met.
    • Assist in cash flow management and recommend financial strategies for business improvement.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies, tax laws, and accounting standards.

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
    • Completed articles (SAIPA, SAICA, or CIMA).
    • Minimum of 2-3 years of post-articles experience in a similar role.
    • Experience in the food or manufacturing sector will be advantageous.
    • Strong understanding of financial principles, tax laws, and statutory requirements.
    • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Pastel, or similar systems).
    • Advanced MS Excel skills.
