    Assistant Silo Manager - Kameel

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Coordinate intake, storage and dispatching of grain.
    • Grading of grain according to statutory requirements.
    • Ensure correct offloading and quality of grain.
    • Oversee the loading of grain and sample taking process.
    • Perform inspections to maintain adherence to statutory requirements.
    • Provide inputs in planning and allocating of storage capacity according to crop estimation information.
    • Pre-cleaning, drying, aeration and fumigation of grain.
    • Maintain a safe working environment.
    • Assist in identifying opportunities for value adding within grading criteria.
    • Assist in Optimizing Grain process to achieve value adding objectives and minimize risk.
    • Attend and resolve client queries.
    • Advise and inform clients on transactions available and industry tendencies.

    Requirements

    • National Senior Certificate.
    • All relevant grading and fumigation courses.
    • Certificate in Management/Leadership.
    • Three years’ experience in the Grain Industry with knowledge and experience in:
    • Crop estimates
    • Testing and grading of grains
    • Fumigation
    • Knowledge of aeration
    • Understanding of grain marketing and management.
    • Excellent negotiation and conflict management skills.

    Description

    • Ensure timely and accurate invoicing based on quotations, with invoices promptly sent to clients.
    • Accurately capture all debtors' deposits (cash and EFT) daily, ensuring correct payment allocation through remittance verification.
    • Prepare and present monthly reports, identifying and addressing problem areas during the debtors' management meeting.
    • Ensure all credit notes and client statements are sent out accurately and on time.

    Electrical Technologist - Klerksdorp

    Responsibilities:

    Electrical System Maintenance

    • Conduct inspections of electrical systems, including distribution panels, wiring, motors, and other equipment, to identify any defects or potential hazards.
    • Troubleshoot electrical malfunctions and diagnose the root causes of failures, utilizing your knowledge of electrical systems and equipment.

    Equipment repair, calibration and electrical designs

    • Oversee the replacement of faulty electrical components, such as switches, relays, circuit breakers, and transformers, using appropriate tools and techniques.
    • Calibrate and test electrical equipment to ensure accuracy, reliability, and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
    • Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to source quality electrical components and equipment.

    Preventive Maintenance and Equipment Monitoring

    • Develop and implement preventive maintenance plans and schedules for electrical systems and equipment, minimizing the risk of unexpected breakdowns and downtime.
    • Monitor equipment performance and analyse data to identify trends, proactively addressing potential issues before they escalate.
    • Conduct regular inspections and tests as per the preventive maintenance plan.

    Project Management

    • Assist in the design and implementation of electrical projects aimed at improving efficiency, reducing energy consumption, and enhancing safety within the agricultural facilities.
    • Prepare technical specifications, cost estimates, and project timelines for electrical projects.
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including engineers, project managers, and operations teams, to ensure project requirements are met.

    Compliance and Safety

    • Stay updated with local electrical codes, regulations, and industry best practices, ensuring that all electrical systems and equipment are compliant and meet safety standards.
    • Conduct safety inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend appropriate measures for mitigation.
    • Implement and enforce electrical safety protocols and procedures in collaboration with the health and safety team.

    Requirements

    • B. Tech Degree in Electrical Engineering
    • At least 2 years’ experience at a consulting firm and/ or industrial environment. 
    • Previous experience working as an Electrical Technologist will be advantageous.
