    Mill Manager

     

    • To manage the mills production efficiencies, people productivity, and overall capacity of the production facility to ensure optimum performance of product specification, cost, service levels and working capital.

    WHAT YOU WILL DO:

    Asset Management:

    • Achievement of overall production parameters
    • Continuous availability of equipment
    • Improved production
    • Reduced costs
    • High-level technical issues and problems are resolved
    • Spares availability for machines and equipment to operate at design capacity and targeted efficiencies
    • Successful motivation and implementation of projects within budget.

    Inventory Management:

    • Acceptable availability of stock to meet the company's needs
    • Overstocking is avoided
    • Consumable stock is managed effectively
    • Losses are curtailed

    Financial Management:

    • Expense control within approved budget
    • Future needs related to historical and current trends are identified and budgeted for
    • Continuous Improvement
    • Target zero write off’s

    Corporate Governance:

    • Adherence to Company Policies and Procedures
    • Adds to the value of the company and is also beneficial for all stakeholders in the long term.

    Health and Safety / RISK / Environmental:

    • Compliance to Safety, Health, Environment and Risk standards
    • Accident/incidents are minimized
    • High safety ratings achieved;
    • Implement and adhere to the Occupational Health & Safety Act
    • Target zero Disabling Injuries;

    Training and needs analysis:

    • Plants to run at design capacity;
    • Milling and Mechanical downtime to be < 3.0% and < 3.5% of the total milling hours in the wheat and maize mills;
    • Business outputs are achieved beyond set targets

    WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE TABLE:

    Qualifications:

    • Qualified Wheat OR Maize miller – GMF Trade Test
    • Swiss Milling School qualification
    • City & Guilds of London – Advanced Flour Milling;
    • National Association of British & Irish Millers
    • Production Diploma or Manufacturing Management

    Experience:

    • Around 5 years proven experience in a production environment of which 3 must be at a senior level.
    • Knowledge of fumigation on grain insects and the management thereof
    • Assertive and diplomatic
    • Creative and solution orientated
    • Self-motivated, capable of working independently and delivering on time
    • An assertive, goal oriented self-starter with good interpersonal and organizing skills
    • Ability to pay attention to detail
    • Negotiating skills
    • Sound analytical and decision-making skills
    • Be a “big picture thinker”
    • Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
    • Be stress tolerant
    • Proficient in using office software systems and related programs

    Maintenance Assistant

    • The Maintenance Assistant supports the Maintenance Department by performing routine maintenance tasks, assisting skilled technicians, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of machinery, equipment, and facility infrastructure. This role plays a key part in minimizing downtime and maintaining a clean and organized working environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Assist artisans and technicians with maintenance and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment.
    • Perform basic maintenance tasks such as cleaning machine components, lubricating moving parts, and replacing filters or worn items.
    • Support with breakdown response activities by preparing tools, accessing parts, and ensuring quick turnaround.
    • Monitor and report on abnormal machine behaviour or safety hazards.
    • Conduct regular facility inspections to identify wear and potential faults.
    • Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
    • Help in organizing the maintenance workshop and stores area.
    • Record maintenance activities in logs or checklists as directed.
    • Assist with installation or removal of equipment as required.
    • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and PPE usage at all times.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent (essential).
    • Technical certificate or N2 in mechanical or electrical field (preferred).
    • 1–2 years of relevant maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
    • Basic knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical systems and tools.

    Skills and Competencies

    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Good communication and teamwork skills.
    • Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures.
    • Physically fit and able to perform manual labor.
    • Basic understanding of maintenance documentation and work permits.

    Working Conditions

    • May be required to work shifts, overtime, or standby.
    • Exposure to industrial noise, dust, and machine operation environments.
    • Must comply with all health and safety regulations.

    Distribution Planning & Analytics Manager

    • To plan and track routes using market-leading planning and route adherence software, ensuring efficiency, cost optimisation, and alignment with strategic supply chain objectives.
    • The role combines advanced technical capability, analytical depth, and operational insight.

    WHAT YOU WILL DO:

    • Master route management: Maintain master routes (sequence, customer allocation, frequency changes, vehicle/driver assignment, workload balancing).
    • System health: Ensure accuracy of system data through exception management, onboarding of new delivery points, and continuous feedback.
    • Operational reporting: Generate daily adherence reports, monthly KPI scorecards, and performance analysis.

    Competencies

    • Software capability: 3–5 years’ experience with strategic planning systems.
    • Communication: Clear, persuasive interaction with multiple stakeholders.
    • Resilience: Ability to perform in high-pressure, fast-paced environments

    Experience

    • 3–5 years’ experience in distribution/logistics.
    • B.Com (Logistics/Transport Management/Supply Chain), or BSc Engineering.
    • 1–2 years’ supervisory/management exposure.
    • Intermediate to advanced MS Excel and Microsoft applications
