    Shift Mechanical Technician

    • We are looking for a Shift Mechanical Technician to provide technical support on shift, development and control to the engineering team, so that the assets maintains the highest levels of productivity and profitability while maintaining high safety and quality standards. Provide technical support to the Operations Teams on shift to ensure problem solving through a continuous improvement mindset and driving the highest standards in Manufacturing Excellent programs that supports effective rebuilds. Provide data analysis for a key focus area through daily tier meeting reporting.

    Main responsibilities: 

    Safety

    • Ensure compliance to all departmental and plant safety rules and regulations.  All non-conformances should be dealt with immediately all unresolved issues must be raised with Mechanical Engineer/ Team Leader or Department Manager.  Follow the correct WSWP and Process Instruction for all tasks performed. Carry out continuous improvement and process optimization to ensure safety.

    Productivity

    • Support production within the Diaper, Diaper Pants and Femcare operation by providing shift mechanical support to the operations teams.
    • Carry out action plans as directed to solve problems thereby minimizing mechanical delay.
    • Analyse mechanical delay and resolve problems as part of cross-functional teams.
    • Participate in Asset product changeovers and minimise task tooltime
    • Support auxiliary equipment and utilities repair in case of fault/ breakdown
    • Follow proper shift and information handover as per process

    Maintenance

    • To assist with maintenance activities on all mechanical equipment and installation.
    • To ensure that mechanical spares are available and ready for use when required or as directed.
    • To provide assistance with standardisation, recommendation of changes in maintenance policies, fault finding and problem solving.
    • Recommend spares requirements to the Mechanical Engineer/ Team Leader/ relevant Day Mechanical Technician
    • Perform Planned Inspection (SAP or otherwise directed) routines.
    • Raise work requests for defects or requirements

    • Prior high-speed production machine maintenance or operating experience, especially on Diaper machines will be advantageous. PC Literate

    Production Operator L3

    • The Mop Operator perform as part of the shift team to ensure that safety, quality, productivity and housekeeping are maintained to the highest standards in an environment of continual improvement mindset and driving the highest standards in Manufacturing Excellent results.

    In this role, you will:

    • Complies with all safety rules, procedures and works instructions.
    • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping and hygiene in the department and follow 5S Housekeeping principles.
    • Operate the MOP of the asset to manufacture product according to specifications and to ensure quality compliance.
    • Communicates with the rest of the team on what they need to do in order to keep the machine running in line with good run settings.
    • Operate the asset at target speeds to achieve rate of operation targets.
    • Controls the production process and correct the components phases to ensure product is produced within specification.
    • Takes and checks samples of product regularly to ensure quality product is being produced. Takes necessary action if product is out of specification.
    • Makes decisions on when to stop the machine when product is out of specification.
    • Enter data on MES system continuously to monitor process and produce product within specification. Review of statistical data to support quality and OEE
    • Continuous monitoring of MESS/ quality charts results and coordinating of relevant corrective actions
    • Capture causes and reasons for delay as accurately as possible to effectively use this information for analysis and decision making on corrective and preventative actions.
    • Comply with centerlining process and use digital tools to track and optimise performance.
    • Knows and actively participate in all work and repairs which are carried out in his/her sector by the support teams.
    • Reports and informs team leader of the maintenance and improvement required of his sector.
    • Drives improvement on various assets in the Mill that will improve “stops, quality, safety, ROO and waste.
    • Apply PDCA Methodology and demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset
    • During shift changes, communicates to the incoming operator all new
    • occurrences, repairs, process changes and materials issues.
    • Responsible to be signed off to be able to operate on any of the assets

    • Minimum Grade 12 and 5 years diaper, and or femcare/ pants experience with a proven track record in KPI delivery aligned with Kimberly Clark’s ways of working and values.
    • A minimum of white / blue belt SS would be required to support our continues improvement journey and P2030 adoption.
    • A minimum of 3 – 6  months acting in a MOP role, signed off competent by L&D on the skills matrix for MOP role and signed off Portfolio of Evidence will be required to be submitted to demonstrate competence.
    • Computer  & Digital data Literate (MES/ OSI PI/ PASS)
