    Warehouse Supervisor - Kempton Park

    Responsibilities

    • Coordinate the movement and storage of stock in the warehouse including the routing of stock to the appropriate area, receipt and recording of accurately completed goods received vouchers, logging of inventory transactions and ensuring goods are safely stored.
    • Coordinate and organise the retrieval, filling of shipments, dispatch and delivery of goods whilst ensuring complete and accurate supporting documentation are in place and filed in order to ensure a high level of service delivery to clients.
    • Recommend and as appropriate implement measures including the use of lean operational practices to improve the quality of service, increasing efficiency of the warehouse, work crew and equipment performance.
    • Ensure client specifications are implemented and standard operating procedures and systems are maintained.
    • Develop, maintain and where relevant adjust work procedures to meet warehouse demands and implement plans to enhance and control the daily workflow of operations. 
    • Maintain a healthy, safe, clean and secure warehouse and work environment, identify any potential risks and implement precautionary measures to protect employees.
    • Measurement and reporting of the effectiveness of warehouse activities by developing and maintaining work instructions for all tasks including the dispatch, collection & safe delivery of goods.
    • Develop and establish relationships with internal teams such as sales, etc. and through these partnerships ensure seamless and quality service to the client.
    • Carry out the coaching, training, and leading of work teams to achieve performance as it relates to specialization in receiving, processing, storage, order assembly or loading.
    • Ensure compliance of all relevant legislative requirements and that all activities in the area of responsibility are compliant with company specific regulations.

    Qualifications

    • Matric/Grade 12 or Equivalent Required (Diploma advantageous)
    • 5 years’ experience in warehouse operations of which 3 years should have been in a supervisory capacity
    • Knowledge of warehouse management and transportation

    Business Accounting Assistant - Kempton Park

    Responsibilities

    • Assist with requests from external and internal auditors. – WHEN REQUIRED
    • Payment proposal to Vendors with terms, approval and checking for NA, ZA, MZ.
    • Approval of daily urgent and operational payment
    • Keeping track and ensuring payment on time for IATA, Transnet, and others.
    • Master data administrator. 
    • Interbranch accounts.
    • Reconciliation of Mozambique vendor accounts.
    • Monthly Mozambique payments and postings.
    • Asset creation and disposal.
    • Tagging of assets on Asset tracking system.  
    • New standard bank fleet cards. E-tags etc.  
    • Support in responding to queries on General ledger accounts.
    • Submit posting for certain month end entries.
    • Reconciliation and clearing of unidentifiable receipts and payments
    • Query handling with operations divisions and Shared Service Centre team and escalate to Business Accounting Specialist when required.
    • Monitor and resolve debit balances on Freight and overhead creditors (invoices not posted on time).
    • Assist SSC and procurement team with GL and cost center allocations.
    • Query handling and reconciliation of accounts payable for Mozambique branch.
    • Review of Overhead vendor recons prepared by Shared Service Centre.
    • Preparation of GP vendor recons.
    • Approval of payments on SEMA – for all 3rd party COD and SARS customs payments except deferments and Mozambique payments.
    • Assist with preparation of documents for bank reviews or audits when required. WHEN REQUIRED
    • Assist Business Accounting Manager with signing of treasury related agreements.
    • Assist with cashflow outlay planning.

    Qualifications

    • Grade 12 (matric)
    • B. Com Finance / Accounting degree would be an advantage
    • Excellent knowledge of English (spoken and written)
    • Sound knowledge of SAP will be an advantage and strong knowledge of MS Office
    • Experience in logistics industry will be an advantage
    • 5+ years’ experience in accounts payable and finance
    • Experience in performing accounts payable services
    • Ability to interpret information accurately
    • Strong communication skills, spoken and written at different levels of the organization with local and foreign colleagues
    • Team player, highly motivated, flexible, and adaptable

    Business Development Manager Ocean

    Responsibilities

    • Business Development: Identify and prospect for potential clients in South Africa for oceanfreight. This involves conducting market research, attending industry events, leveraging personal networks, and using various sales techniques to generate leads and new business opportunities.
    • Pipeline Management:  Proactively build a robust sales pipeline by identifying and engaging potential clients within Johannesburg.
    • Sales Presentations and Proposals: Prepare and deliver sales presentations, proposals, and quotations to prospective clients, showcasing DB Schenker's services, capabilities, and value proposition. Tailor presentations to address specific client needs and highlight competitive advantages. Negotiate pricing and contractual terms to secure new business.
    • New Business Implementation:  Document SOP between customers and DB Schenker to effectively implement new business secured across DB Schenker services.
    • Collaboration with Internal Teams: Work closely with internal teams, such as operations, pricing, and customer service, to ensure seamless execution of services and meet client expectations. Collaborate with the operations team to develop tailored logistics solutions for clients and provide accurate information on shipment status, timelines, and delivery updates.
    • Market Analysis and Reporting: Stay updated on market trends, competitors, and industry developments, providing insights and recommendations to the management team. Generate regular reports on sales activities, pipeline, and revenue forecasts, ensuring accurate tracking of sales performance.
    • Customer Relationship Management (CRM): Utilize CRM systems to manage and track sales activities, maintain client profiles, document interactions, and generate reports. Ensure timely and accurate data entry to facilitate effective sales management and reporting.
    • Sales Targets and Performance: Meet and exceed sales targets and objectives set by the company. Regularly review sales performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to achieve sales growth and profitability.
    • Continuous Learning and Skill Development: Stay updated on industry best practices, logistics trends, and DB Schenker's service offerings. Participate in training programs, workshops, and conferences to enhance sales skills and knowledge.

    Qualifications

    • Matric certificate essential.
    • Min 3 years sales experience in oceanfreight.
    • Proven sales track record of successful business development with multinational logistics company.
    • Relevant Bachelor and/ or Master’s degree or equivalent preferred.
    • High degree of work flexibility and willingness to travel.
    • Outstanding interpersonal competencies, and cultural sensitivity.
    • Ability to drive business success through virtual teams.
    • Strong business acumen, result-focused business approach.
    • Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
    • Focus on business development along with strong “selling” ability.
    • Positive and convincing attitude and an empathetic, motivating personality.
    • Strategic and conceptual thinking with good problem-solving skills.
