    Senior Welding & Fabrication Inspector (64421)

    Job Description

    • We are currently seeking experienced Senior Welding & Fabrication Inspector/ QA/QC Expediting Contractor to support engineering, fabrication, and manufacturing projects across local and international sites for a 12-month contract. 
    • This is a project-based, independent contractor opportunity suited to seasoned professionals who can operate autonomously and uphold strict quality and compliance standards across supplier environments.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Trade qualification (Red Seal Artisan - Fitter, Boilermaker, or Millwright) and/or
    • SAIW Level II / IWS / IWT Welding Inspection certification
    • Coating Inspection certification (SAIW / NACE / FROSIO advantageous)
    • NDE certifications (VT, PT, MT, RT, UT - advantageous)

    Experience Required

    • 5+ years in engineering equipment manufacturing and fabrication, working on construction or industrial sites
    • Strong QA/QC background across fabrication and furnace/engineering equipment

    Solid understanding of:

    • Welding, fabrication, machining, and heat treatment processes
    • Codes & standards (AWS, ASME, EN ISO)
    • Engineering drawings and technical documentation
    • Proven experience with welding documentation (WPS, PQR, WQR)
    • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 3834

    Scope of Work

    • Conduct quality inspections on fabricated and manufactured equipment
    • Perform supplier inspections (local & international)
    • Oversee welding, fabrication, machining, heat treatment, coating, and NDE processes
    • Verify compliance with drawings, specifications, and applicable codes/standards
    • Monitor supplier progress and expediting against project schedules
    • Compile detailed inspection and progress reports
    • Liaise with suppliers, clients, and project teams on all quality-related matters

    Job Description:

    • Meet KPIs related to machine uptime, response times, repair quality, HSE, and housekeeping
    • Perform preventative maintenance, routine inspections, and ensure adherence to maintenance schedules
    • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults
    • Install, assemble, dismantle, and align machinery per technical drawings and specifications
    • Minimise downtime and optimise machine performance and output
    • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring issues

    • Collaborate with production teams to ensure efficient machine operation

    • Ensure compliance with safety standards, ISO requirements, and LOTOTO procedures

    • Perform quality checks, testing, and calibration to meet product standards
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness
    • Maintain high housekeeping standards (5S) and ensure clean work areas after tasks
