    Divisional Finance Manager (Finance / Construction / Mining / CA / Statutory / Manager)

    Job Description:

    Reporting to the Divisional Financial Director of the Building Coastal Region & Divisional Managing Director of the Building Cape Division, The applicant will be responsible for all accounting, administrative, financial and reporting functions of the divisional operations and relevant statutory companies and will provide administrative, commercial and operational support to the operations.
     
    Responsibilities:

    • Reviewing and/or preparing divisional results. Analysis and review of site cost reports and forecasts.
    • Monitoring of the divisional debtors book. Review of the divisional age analysis.
    • Reviewing and/or preparation of JV and statutory management accounts. Accompanying schedules, VAT reconciliations and Tax Computations
    • Reviewing of JV recovering invoicing.
    • Assisting the MD in the preparation of the divisional budget.
    • Monitoring of JV and statutory company working capital.
    • Regularly visiting sites and providing guidance to site administrative personnel.
    • Assuming responsibility for payments processing departments. Design, implementation and adherence to internal controls.
    • Liaise with Financial, Audit and Tax professionals where applicable
    • Liaise with Banks and Insurance providers where applicable 

     
    Requirements: Qualification and Skill

    • B.Comm or similar qualification
    • Must be CA qualified
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint skills
    • At least 5 years managerial experience
    • Experience within the Construction/Mining industry highly advantageous
    • 3 – 5 years’ experience preparing management accounts and financial statements
    • Strong people management, interpersonal and communication skills
    • A decision maker with good problem solving abilities

    Our client, with mining operations in the Northern Cape, is seeking a qualified Human Resources Development Manager with previous experience in the mining industry to join their team on site.
     
    Responsibilities:

    • Managing the training and development function for the mine.
    • Developing Human Resources Development strategies, policies and standards.
    • Implementing and continually improving the system.
    • Overseeing learning management strategy, policies and procedures.
    • Overseeing social and labour plan and legislative compliance.
    • Ensure operational, legal and safety standards are implemented and adhered to.

    Requirements: Qualification and Skill

    • Degree in Human Resources Development / ODETDP.
    • Grade 12 / Matric certificate.
    • Valid driver’s license.
    • 10 years previous experience in Training and Development, Occupational Development and Transformation within the mining industry.
    • Blasting Certificate or Mine Overseers Certificate advantageous.

The successful candidate must be able to effectively position and demonstrate the company’s solutions through a consultative sales process.

    Responsibilities:

    • Driving sales in region: Attain assigned pipeline target and sales quotas, Submit accurate sales forecasting and performance reports on a regular basis.
    • Collaborate with clients, account management team and delivery/operations throughout the sales cycle to design and build compelling, high-quality sales presentations, proposals and roadmaps to close.
    • Thoroughly analyze and understand current and potential client needs and objectives in order to successfully determine the appropriate solution.
    • Be the voice of the customer, feeding into the company Market Development and Proposition teams to inform on market requirements.
    • This is a quota bearing position that covers a broad customer market segment and assigned territory or coverage area.
    • The solution sales specialist will prospect senior corporate tax executives and perform a detailed qualification of self-generated leads within their region to uncover clients’ issues.
    • This will require a high degree of self-motivation and effective time management.
    • The role will also involve periodic attendance at trade shows, representing the organisation professionally and managing the timely follow up of all leads.

    Client interaction:

    • The Solution Sales Specialist will organise and attend client meetings striving to challenge current thinking in order to deliver unique propositions.
    • This will involve demonstrating sophisticated software solutions and learning and understanding industry best practice to position themselves and the organisation as a thought leader.
    • The solution sales specialist will work closely with the client on the optimal solution liaising with internal specialists to present easy to understand information back to the client, identifying the potential return on investment. This will involve leveraging an internal team in an organised manner with clear attention to detail, ensuring all deadlines are met.
    • The role will be targeted on the revenue generated from contracted sales of both software and services.
    • They will have the drive and energy to exceed expectations being able to show true entrepreneurial spirit to maximise opportunities, continually looking to reduce sales cycles and with the tenacity to produce results on a monthly basis.
    • The solution sales specialist will need to persuade both clients and internal contacts to move towards “win-win” situations.
    • The role will require negotiation of key commercial and legal terms and the individual will be adept at making correct and informed business decisions aimed at achieving a positive outcome for both the client and the company.
    • The solution sales specialist will need a strategic mindset to understand the requirements of large multinationals and how this impacts individual teams.

     

    • Importantly they will continually analyse the way that they work looking for constant improvement and adaptability to add real value to the customer experience.
    • As well as managing their own pipeline, the solution sales specialist will be responsible for some coaching and mentoring of the existing team focusing on pipeline and large deal management.

    Additionally the solution sales specialist will be required to:

    • Work as part of a team while also displaying the drive to achieve individual targets.
    • Record all activity in a timely manner in the CRM system.
    • Maintain a working knowledge of company products, special sales programs and marketing efforts within the sales division.

    Requirements: Qualification and Skill
    Critical Competencies: skills and abilities required for the role:

    • Degree or equivalent required
    • Relevant and demonstrable previous sales experience in a business to business environment, preferably dealing with JSE level clients.
    • Detailed understanding of a solution sales process
    • Ability and willingness to generate own leads
    • Entrepreneurial spirit with experience of working in startup environments
    • Excellent phone skills required
    • Excellent communication and negotiation skills

    Experience: relevant experience for the role:

    • Ideally 5+ years previous solution sales experience dealing with JSE organisations.
    • Tax or accounting knowledge would be a distinct advantage.
    • A track record of selling software.
    • Experience with salesforce.com would also be beneficial.
