Job Purpose

The web designer will be responsible for creating the design and layout of content for the company website and campaigns. The position will entail working on new and/or updating an existing platforms or content. The web designer will work closely with the web developers and Project Manager to execute the relevant tasks and is required to be meticulous and efficient in their work so as to meet deadlines and deploy work of a high standard.

Primary duties and responsibilities:

• Creating website designs
• Producing sample sites and banners
• Meeting with stakeholders to discuss requirements and/or project progress
• Demonstrating and receiving feedback about draft sites/content
• Keeping up to date with recent technological and software developments
• Developing skills and expertise in appropriate software/programming languages such as HTML and Javascript
• Creating products that are user-friendly, effective and appealing
• Digital retouching and image editing
• Working as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Customizing newsletters
• Work with marketing automation software

Role Requirements:

Qualifications and experience

Matric or NQF level 4 equivalent

Bachelor’s Degree a must

• 3+ years’ experience in web design
• Excellent knowledge of SEO, web standards, cross-browser compatibility, and accessibility
• Possess excellent knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, In-Design, HubSpot
• Knowledge and experience with JavaScript, ASP, C#, HTML5, PHP, CMS and CSS
• Experience in internet technology and website design
