    Job description

    Are you looking for an opportunity where you have the resources and freedom to grow your career? Look no further! We are seeking a vibrant individual to join our dynamic and ever growing securities team.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's Degree: Financial or Mathematics Degree
    • Post Graduate Degree
    • Relevant FSB Representative Exams
    • CFA Level 3 completed
    • Completion of the relevant SAIFM exams

     

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • 3/5 years’ experience trading on S.A. Market at a recognised firm
    • Proven track record of running a profit centre profitably
    • Highly driven, motivated and energetic
    • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with attention to detail and accuracy in execution
    • Solid knowledge of Investment and Financial Markets
    • Strong understanding of market dynamics and fundamentals
    • Strong numerical, written and verbal communications skills
    • Computer Literate: Excel knowledge (pivot tables, macros would be beneficial)
    • Ability to operate in high pressurised environment, requiring effective prioritisation and time management
    • Excellent English writing skills (you will be required to do a written test)
    • Driver’s license and own transport

     

    PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Monitor and respond to incoming market information
    • Economic announcements
    • General trading activity to manage portfolio risk
    • Identify investment opportunities
    • Use trading metrics and statistical data to identify areas to increase profitability and improve performance
    • Utilize analytical problem-solving skills to troubleshoot trading systems
    • Develop new trading tactics
    • Improve platform operations

     

    IMPORTANT ATTRIBUTES:

    • Must possess an ownership mentality and a willingness to take responsibility for tasks through to completion.
    • Attention to detail, goal orientated and a willingness to learn and be hands on
    • Ability to present well and build good relationships externally and internally

     

    NON – NEGOTIABLE:

    • You need to stay current with market trends and have an excellent understanding of business objectives and our client’s requirements.
    • You need to be service orientated and have the ability to create client value whilst maintaining profitable business results.

     

    PACKAGE AND TIMELINE:

    Basic plus Revenue Split (will be discussed with Candidate directly at interview).
