    Investment Banking Division, Assistant

    Job Summary

    The Investment Banking Division is looking for an administrative assistant in Johannesburg to support a team of bankers. The Investment Banking Division provides broad-based, global service with expertise in mergers and acquisitions, privatisations, and equity, debt and high-yield financings. The role of administrative assistant is a critical and entrusted position within the division.

    Responsibilities And Qualifications

    Principal Responsibilities

    • Proactive management of complex diaries, travel schedules and itineraries
    • Co-ordination of internal and external meetings
    • Professionally and confidently managing client communications in bankers’ absence; regular interaction with senior level executives
    • Timely and thorough processing of administrative tasks (e.g., time sheets, expenses)
    • Administrative duties for the Johannesburg office, including preparation of presentation documents, and various visa processes

    Basic Qualifications

    • Strong organisational skills
    • Highest attention to detail
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork; ability to work collaboratively
    • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
    • Responsive and professional telephone answering; accurate and detailed messages
    • Proactive, quick thinking; ability to take initiative and prioritise
    • Discretion; ability to handle sensitive matters confidentially at all times
    • Composure under pressure; ability to work in a dynamic environment
    • Financial services experience preferred
    • Preferably 2 years’ experience as an administrative assistant, or 4 years’ experience in a customer service field
