Key Performance Areas:

• The effective operational management of the company’s stores. This encompasses the management of all related store activities, including sales budget delivery, management of stock in trade, cash management, management of the store environment and housekeeping, management of the regional managers and store-based staff, the delivery of agreed marketing and promotional activation and the day-to-day visual merchandising of product;
• The effective management of the operational costs within the agreed budget;
• Driving progress, by continually improving the store staffs’ competencies and enhancing the stores’ businesses processes and operational capabilities. It will be necessary to constantly review practices in the retail industry and promote appropriate practices;
• Safeguarding and promoting the Green Cross brand (and the relevant sub-brands) at store level, where the customer interfaces with the brands and products;
• Reporting on operational deficiencies and resolving these, including with other functional areas where necessary;
• Reporting on customer insights and ensuring they are raised appropriately; and
• Playing a material role in the development of the property portfolio, and ensuring that the new stores are ready to trade on the appointed date.

Minimum Requirements:

Experience:

• 3 - 5 years’ retail experience at an executive management level
• 5 - 10 years’ retail experience at a senior operational management level
• 5 years’ national retail operational experience
• Fashion retail experience will be preferred

Qualification:

• Completed three year Business/Retail National Diploma or Degree
• MBA would be highly advantageous

Technical Competencies & Knowledge:

• Excellent communication and people management skills;
• Ability to quickly assimilate new information and understand business issues.
