    HR Manager

    Job description

    RESPONSIBILITY OF JOB

    • The Human Resource Manager will be responsible for providing guidance on HR and IR related functions such as recruitment, staffing, harmonising of HR policies within the Group, training and development, performance monitoring and providing advice and assistance to the divisions of the group.
    • The role will also involve assisting and guiding the Group’s training committee to ensure it is effectively run to meet the requirements of Merseta.

    MAIN JOB FUNCTION

    • Training and Development
    • Facilitate the Group’s skills development strategy by:
    • Undertaking skills audit
    • Identifying skills gap
    • Identifying learning programmes to close the skills gap
    • Ensuring employees undertake/enrol for the identified learning programmes
    • Evaluate efficacy of learning interventions.
    • Ensure the divisions strategic plans and budgets include training and development plans.
    • Serve as an expert regarding training requirements, including learnership, skills programs and apprenticeships.
    • Ensure continuous development of human resources to ensure availability of resources for succession plans.

    Performance Management:

    • Ensure that annual performance management goals are set for certain job grade employees.
    • Ensure that performance targets are also set for new employees of the qualifying job grades.
    • Ensure that necessary intervention measures are put in place to ensure achievement of the set goals.
    • Ensure that performance targets are uniform within the group.
    • Ensure that appraisals are done timeously at the set frequencies.

    General

    • Ensure uniformity within the group regarding HR policies and implementation thereof.
    • Offer guidance to the divisions on HR and IR related matters.
    • Ensure that exit interviews are done to understand the reasons and correct where possible.
    • Perform any other function within the skill level of the role.

    EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIRED

    • Self-motivated individual
    • Have the personality to work with different people
    • Prepared to work outside normal working hours where necessary
    • At least five years’ experience in similar role
    • Preferably from an industrial environment

    FORMAL QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

    • HR Related Degree
    • Budget up to 650 per anum including all benefits.
