Primary Responsibilities

• The Senior Resource Geologist is required to establish methods to meet work schedules and co-ordinate work activities with both our clients, and technical staff. This position is also responsible for implementing all planning, scheduling and co-ordination required to plan, execute, manage and supervise our consulting work pipeline.
• You will also spearhead the development of processes, practices, and methodologies used in mine geology and mineral resource estimation that will maximize operational efficiencies and profitability.

Specific Skills And Knowledge Essential For This Position Include

• Outstanding mineral resource estimation and geostatistical skills.
• High standard of geological knowledge for one or more commodities (i.e. gold, copper, nickel, PGE, lithium, diamond, etc.) and deposit types.
• High standard of QA-QC knowledge for various commodities.
• Critical understanding of geostatistical grade estimation methods (OK, ID, MIK).
• Basic understanding of the use of conditional simulation to assess mineral resource risk.
• Good understanding of various metalliferous deposit types.
• Good understanding of and preparation of NI 43-101, JORC, and SAMREC reporting code technical reports.
• Strong working knowledge of mining software packages (GEMCOM, Surpac and/or GENESIS)
• Good working knowledge of GIS (ArcGIS, MapInfo, other).
• Advises on design and reviews of sampling, assaying, drilling and QA/QC programs.
• Provide reconciliation expertise to mining operations.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Ability to take direction and complete assigned tasks to a high standard.
• Implementing novel methodologies in conceptual, pre-feasibility, feasibility studies and existing operation projects.
• Establishing and maintaining client relationships.
• Communicate all significant issues relating to operations, environmental management and safety.
• Possible travel to remote areas.
• May be assigned and coordinate special or ad hoc projects as needed.

• Accountable for the Health, Safety and Environment of personnel and the enforcement of all regulations as per the Company Health and Safety Manual, and the immediate reporting of any health, safety or environmental incidents, accidents or concerns to the Manager/Supervisor and H&S department for action.
• Demonstrates good and safe work habits and enforces a clean working environment.

Profile

• Education: B.Sc. or M.Sc degree in Geology or Geological Engineering
• Advanced study in geostatistics would be an advantage.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience, including 10 years of mineral resource estimation and reporting.
• Registration as a Professional Natural Scientist (Pr.Sci.Nat.) is a requirement for employment as a Competent Person for SAMREC / SAVAL and Qualified Person (QP) for NI 43-101.
• Fluency in English is a requirement.
