Senior Architect and DBA using MongoDB at Cartrack

Role Summary

Cartrack, an International Vehicle Tracking Company has multiple opportunities for a Senior MongoDB Architect and Database Administrator/Analysis to join our dynamic development team in Rosebank, Gauteng, for development to a MongoDB platform. A MongoDB expert is therefore required to provide designs, specify integration, stabilise the product, maintain and support MongoDB in order to expand and improve our services, operations and products.

Minimum Requirements:

• 5 – 12 years of computer science / engineering experience
• Demonstrated development expertise with specialized technical knowledge of the MongoDB platform and similar SQL technologies
• Advanced MongoDB experience is required
• Knowledge of GIS Spatial system will be of benefit
• Must have an in-depth insight in the technical principles of data processing
• Experience with PostgreSQL will also be beneficial

Responsibilities:

• Comprehend and translate business requirements into technical specifications and build solutions bases on specifications
• Provide Database Administration in Mongo DB
• Troubleshoot and resolve the following: data integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, replication / connectivity, security issues
• Provide support such as backups, restores, database mirroring, replication
• Design and develop databases / prototypes and proofs of concept
