    Talent Business Partner

    Job description

    Role Summary

    The ideal candidate for this role will be responsible for working in partnership with the business to provide a professional and proactive generalist talent support service. You will actively assist in the implementation of organisational change through the facilitation of initiatives to bring about performance and cultural improvements.

    Key Performance Areas

    • Manage employee relations and drive employee wellness
    • Provide elegant people solutions by pro-actively assisting and supporting both employees and business whilst managing all aspects of the employee life cycle
    • Support management in the on-boarding process for all new employees and ensure that new employees are properly integrated into the business
    • Ensure that all consultations are in line with best practice, company policies and procedures
    • Provide support / guidance pertaining to grievance, disciplinary processes and coach management on the performance improvement process in line with company policy and best practice
    • Ensure consistent and correct application of all company policies within your area of responsibility through presentations and workshops
    • Actively promote and support the company’s EAP for employees driving all wellness programs throughout the business
    • Identify employees at risk for informal referrals, and assist management with the process of formal referrals

    Assist with organizational development initiatives

    • Support management with the implementation of organizational interventions and change management interventions where risks, operational or strategic business changes are identified by the business
    • Facilitate the practical implementation of effective performance management based on company processes within area of responsibility, with on-going monitoring of the process to ensure that all related activities are conducted within the allocated timeframes
    • Act as a change agent and role model, providing the support and effective mechanisms to implement major changes to the operations of the business
    • Facilitate all team development processes, including workshops, exercises, or programs to enhance the cohesiveness of teams

    Monitor and report on EE

    • Ensure the company’s EE policy and plan is aligned with current legislative requirements and is adhered to in relation to talent principles
    • Prepare and monitor all EE statistics and reports as instructed
    • Provide advice on discrimination in the workplace where needed
    • Prepare and submit annual EEA2 & EEA4 reports to the Department of Labour

    Design and develop policies and procedures

    • Assist the management team in the design and development of policies and procedures
    • Implement best practice and company policy as well as make recommendations to amend policies in accordance with changes in employment law and broader talent landscape

    Administration and reporting

    • Ensure accurate preparation of new / amended employment contracts whilst making sure that all relevant new starter documentation is accurately completed and distributed as required
    • Conduct salary benchmarking research to ensure salaries are competitive and up-to-date with market changes
    • Maintain accurate and updated employee records at all times for both the employee files and HRMS
    • Prepare accurate and timely talent reports as requested by management ensuring all statistics are accurate throughout
    • Prepare quarterly summaries of the EAP reports for distribution to relevant departments and then analyze these reports to identify risk areas to be addressed through wellness initiatives
    • Generate and issue ad hoc reports through data mining analysis to provide management with key statistics and trends identified and provide recommendations to act accordingly

    Projects

    • Promote / support and co-ordinate CSI initiatives in line with company requirements and reporting
    • Support the talent department in delivering key annual projects in the business, including Group Pulse Surveys, Leadership Surveys and the bi-annual KPA processes

    Requirements

    Qualifications & Accreditations

    A 3 year diploma or degree that covers HR principles

    Experience & Skills

    • Minimum of 4 years' Talent Support experience with a focus on driving and managing employee wellness
    • Sound labour relations experience
    • Advanced knowledge of employment equity
    • Must have managed multiple projects simultaneously
    • Experience with HRMS will be an added advantage
    • Excellent MS Office skills
