    Consultant: Organisational Development

    Job description

    Purpose:

    The purpose of this job will be to develop and manage the implementation of the performance and talent management system. The focus will be to improve employee performance and behavioural competencies required to support change within the University of Johannesburg, and to develop and facilitate the implementation of talent management online system for the University of Johannesburg.

    Responsibilities:

    Performance Management:

    • Annual review, implementation and monitoring of the adherence to the policy by all stakeholders.
    • Alignment of the Performance Management Cycle and reporting timelines with the University calendar.
    • Ensure that individual development plans are included in the contracting process.
    • Performance management training and up skilling for stakeholders and customers.
    • Research and present on best practice and design improvement action plans.
    • Alignment of the performance management strategies with the talent management and succession planning strategies.

    Talent Management:

    Create and implement a talent management strategy and plan to support the University of Johannesburg which includes: Sourcing and Recruiting, Talent Gap Analysis & Workforce Planning, Career Paths and Secession Planning/Internal talent pipeline, Training and Development, Rewards, Recognition and Retention Program and Talent Performance.
    To assist UJ to accomplish its Human Resources requirements/objectives by developing and implementing innovative talent management practices.

    Organisational Design.

    • Develop and review Job Family framework content.
    • Develop and update university generic competency framework.
    • Recommend and implement organizational and entity structural changes involving position alignment.
    • Develop and update organisational and job design guidelines.
    • Conducts regular audits of the organisational structure and recommends changes to make the organization more efficient.
    • Change Management.
    • Set up Organisation change management governance.
    • Facilitate and advise on the change management process
    • In partnership with the business ensure that change management strategy is in place.

    Minimum Requirements...

    Education

    Honours Degree in Human Resources Management HR or Industrial Psychology or relevant field within Human Resources

    Working Experience

    At least five (5) years progressive experience in performance management and talent management initiatives and Organisational effectiveness, Organisational Design, OD Consulting and Change Management.
