    Account Executive

    Job description

    Miminimum Requirement

    Education

    • Matric
    • Level 4 FETC in Short-term Insurance
    • Passed FAIS Regulatory Exam
    • Higher Certificate in Insurance
    • Post matric qualification is an advantage (BComm Risk/Accounting, BBA)
    • Fully Bilingual (English and Afrikaans)

    Experience

    • 5 -8 years short-term insurance experience, in a broking capacity (sales and service)
    • Experience in customer liaison; building and maintaining relationships
    • Experience working in a Brokerage is preferred
    • Proven sales track record

    Skills

    • Business Acumen (understand the economic environment & more specifically the insurance environment)
    • Basic understanding of financial management
    • High level of knowledge and understanding of TCF
    • High level of knowledge and understanding of FAIS
    • High level of knowledge and understanding of S15 of FAIS

    Key Performance Outputs

    • Growth and profitability
    • Develop, grow and retain brokers’ client base.
    • Provide after sales service.
    • Identify new business opportunities, generate leads and achieve market and revenue growth on selected products.
    • Identify opportunities for up/cross selling and write additional business
    • Identify other channels which can be used to enhance sales.
    • Implement marketing and promotional activities.
    • Maintain portfolio
    • Attend to all broker queries, including claims related matters. Escalate complex queries timeously to management.
    • Service Brokers in accordance with Indwe Intermediary Support Services minimum service standards
    • Monitor broker portfolio performance in terms of premium and policy unit growth and loss ratio performance
    • Discuss corrective actions and increases where necessary and mandated by insurer to do so
    • Build relationships through regular contact, identifying critical decision makers with all stakeholders (brokers, insurers, etc) ;
    • Broker Communication - Keep brokers informed of developments in the industry and market

    Client Service administration

    • Conduct policy audits on broker business to ensure no PI risk exposure to broker, and identify opportunities to upsell or cross sell
    • Ensure all communication with the broker is in accordance with FAIS minimum standards
    • General correspondence and e-mails to brokers according to company standards
    • Compile and submit reports on time to line manager as per set standard
    • Set up monthly meetings with the brokers and product owners to discuss problem areas.
    • Where relevant assist with credit control.

    Perform credit control

    Advise relevant parties of unpaid items
