Branch Merchandiser at RHR plc

Job description

JD Sports Fashion PLC are now seeking to recruit a driven and passionate Branch Merchandiser to join their ever growing and fast paced Premium Fashion Merchandising Team situated at JD's Head Office in Bury. This role will be working across JD's ever growing Premium Fashion fascia's Scotts and Tessuti.

The main purpose of this role will be to optimise KPIs relating to sales, markdown, stock, intake and profit plans.

Planning

• Working with the SMT to develop and present the merchandising strategy, covering individual areas of responsibility, referencing learning from the previous year (with particular reference to stores)
• Be aware of all SMT & MT plans and how they impact on store planning
• Be the key driver in establishing a robust grading process
• Attend range reviews for key product categories
• Work with space planning to ensure the store option counts are accurate
• Ensure that the range planning meets options and space plans at store level
• Ensure that the pre-scheduling meets options and range plans at store level
• Support category teams in optimising flow of product through DC

Trading

• Prepare weekly overview of Store Performance, identifying 'fashion" priorities and proposed activity to address any concerns or opportunities
• Full brand by store stock optimisation recommendations and actions
• Pre and post peak season stock moves (ie Xmas build, Eid, Summer & Xmas Sale, Black Friday)
• Maximise "sale" sell through including creation and management of sale grading
• "Store First" sell through monitor with category / brand recommendations and actioned on systems accordingly
• Attend Monday Trading Meeting and agree store activity
• Be the first point of contact within merchandising for store issues
• Co-ordinate a store visit programme for buying and merchandising
• Design a store visit preparation pack and reporting mechanism
• Creation of core line lists and availability reporting

Projects

• Concession stock
• Regular liaison with concession partner team to understand and analyse performance
• Propose trading recommendations for improvements
• Orchestrate regular trading updates
• New store stock builds
• including reserving key brand stock
• first 3 month monitoring on performance for trend and opportunity
• Store closure "stock down" management and re-allocation
• New/refitted and concept store space planning liaison
• DC liaison in relation to key suppliers ensuring that the supply chain is aligned to JD requirements

Looking For

Skills Needed/Knowledge Required;

• Previous experience within a similar role is essential.
• Good working knowledge of the Merchandising Function.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office - Outlook/Word/PowerPoint/Excel.
• Numerical and Analytical.
• Ability to work individually as well as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills both written and oral.
