    Business Analyst

    Job description

    The Business Analyst will engage with client stakeholders to understand requirements and business problems and how these need to be solved through the implementation of IT solutions.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Consultation
    • Quickly understands the business issues and user challenges of client's organisation and industry
    • Become a subject matter expert in the industries and business units of the client we engage
    • Research and understand client business and industries to be able to provide developers with insights and information to enable the creation of solutions that provide value to the customer
    • Manages client expectations effectively on assigned projects
    • Scoping
    • Perform requirements gathering & analysis through interviews and workshops
    • Conduct and attend JAD sessions to solve business requirements
    • Assist with the development of functional specifications and system design specifications for client business areas
    • Document, review and edit requirements, specifications, business processes and recommendations related to a proposed solution
    • Translate business requirements into technical requirements and communicate needed changes to development teams
    • Initiate dialog with business areas to develop an understanding of their business needs and gaps
    • Assist the business in identifying required changes to existing reports and business systems
    • Prioritise independently, multiple requests and system requirements to meet the organisational goals
    • Identifies client organisation's strengths and weaknesses and suggests areas of improvement
    • Project Management
    • Development
    • Ensures issues are identified, tracked, reported on and resolved in a timely manner
    • Communicates needed changes to development team
    • Assists in the facilitation of team and client meetings
    • Track progress on developer tasks on projects and provide updates to team Ops Manager
    • Implementation
    • Perform testing to validate accuracy of delivered solutions
    • Ensure issues are identified and resolved in a timely manner
    • Continually seek opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships
    • Administration
    • Implement and coordinate documentation and project files for all projects
    • Prepare client training content
    • Technical
    • The successful candidate will be required to become up-skilled in multiple technologies in order to better understand how client challenges can be solved.

    CANDIDATE:

    Well-developed communications and presentation skills with the ability to work in a team environment that is pushing boundaries in the development world.

    KNOWLEDGE:
    Essential:

    • 2-3 years Business Analysis Experience
    • MS Visio
    • Exposure to all SDLC phases
    • Extensive knowledge of business process and business systems
    • Desirable:
    • Business Analysis experience
    • Process Design & Optimisation experience
    • Project management or administration experience
    • SharePoint Experience

    WORK SKILLS:

    • The ability to work independently with both technical staff and users at various levels
    • Investigate and validate all aspects of document and and/or business problems and overcome any obstacles to finding answers is absolutely essential
    • Create user guides
    • Ability to conduct User Acceptance Testing and reviews
    • Documenting business and system requirements including business process, workflow and user interface

    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking
    • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and quality
    • Excellent grammatical, writing and editorial skills are required
    • Networking and cultivating productive working relationships
    • Time management, prioritization and organization with the ability to prioritize activities and lead multiple tasks at once
    • Ability to work in a flexible environment
    • Communication (written & oral) and facilitation
    • Working with all levels within an organization including senior executives, managers, front lines, corporate and technical staff

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Essential:

    • IT Degree (B.Com/B.Sci/B.Tech or similar)

    Desirable:

    • Business Analysis courses or certification
