    Practitioner, Tax Department

    Job description

    An opportunity has arisen for a practitioner to join the Tax Department of ENSafrica, in Cape Town.

    THE WORK

    The candidate will become an integral part of ENSafrica’s tax practice, servicing a number of leading multinational enterprises in a variety of industry sectors. The work will cover a broad range of tax consulting areas, including but not limited to advising on corporate tax, dividends tax, international tax, securities transfer tax and exchange controls; as well as tax research, tax planning, tax dispute resolution and other tax related projects. The candidate will work closely with various members of the tax department. This role will therefore offer the candidate an opportunity to develop exceptional technical skills.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Research and identification of tax implications of corporate or financial transactions
    • Assisting in drafting tax opinions
    • Interacting with various international advisors in the context of cross-border projects
    • Interacting with the South African Revenue Services
    • Assisting with the resolution of tax disputes
    • Drafting exchange control applications and interacting with authorised dealers and the South African Reserve Bank
    • Assisting with the implementation of advice by reviewing agreements

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Relevant university degree with an outstanding academic transcript (e.g. CA(SA), LLB. BAccLLB, B.Com Accounting and HDip Tax)
    • It is also essential that the candidate demonstrates the ability to understand the needs of clients and to communicate effectively with them, as well as to manage client relations and practice management, in general. In addition, the candidate must be ambitious, achievement-oriented, focused and able to work well under pressure in a deadline driven environment.
