    Sales Hunter - Chemical Intermediates

    Job description

    We have a two-year employment contract available for an experienced sales hunter. Although based in South Africa, responsibilities extend to Sub Saharan Africa. Core tasks will include:

    • Deep-dive into African Petrochemical Upstream and Downstream (including: leather, textile, oil & gas, pharma, agro, gas treatment, paint & coatings, home & personal care, construction, epoxy, polyuria)
    • Develop lasting technical & commercial customer relationships to identify business trends in and beyond the customer scope or respective Chemical Intermediates portfolio, translate and materialize business opportunities into active sales
    • Identify and attract new customers, pursue new applications and interact with corresponding process and product developers of the potential customer, leading to profitable business
    • Apply the overall sales process, aiming to meet or exceed the sales targets and optimize profit and market shares regionally
    • Understand customer needs and translate them into accurate sales and volumes forecasts
    • Prepares comprehensive local market map with focus on market size, industry trends, competitive landscape and sales channels (direct - indirect)
    • Accurate and proactive on-time reporting about trends and opportunities.

    What we expect

    • Completed Bachelors degree with relevant science major required. Additional marketing / sales training a definite advantage.
    • 2 - 4 years’ Sales and Account Management experience in the chemical industry in Africa. Technical understanding of chemicals and value chain.
    • Knowledge of African Distribution models.
    • Deep knowledge of product portfolio and possible applications
    • A valid driver’s license is required.
    • Willingness and ability to travel, both locally within South Africa and Sub Saharan Africa is required.
