Hello… an exciting new opportunity has just come available in our Group Finance area. We are looking to recruit a Financial manager.

Summary of Role and Context:

•  Ensure compliance with the relevant laws and standard governing financial reports for the Group (SARS, FSB, etc.)
•  Report on Company results and measure Company and divisional performance i.t.o group KPI’s through portfolio review and benchmarking - To provide insightful financial information to stakeholders, in order for them to make informed decisions that will enhance sustainable growth and keep in line with strategic objectives.
•  Ensure financial reports are submitted timeously to the various stakeholders, including the FSB, SARS, SA Reserve Bank, NCR, Shareholders, Hollard Board and Hollard Exco.
•  Act as an early warning function for matter that could impact the licence and the groups’ ability to continue with business.
•  Ensure a green control environment is maintained at financial level by reviewing the effectiveness of controls implemented, in order to prevent financial loss to the Company.
•  Report on company’s compliance with the FSC Act – covers compliance with laws and reputational risk.

Education and Work Experience Required:

•  CA (SA)
•  Desired qualification: CA (SA) with 5 years post articles experience
•  Minimum experience: CA (SA) with 3 years post articles experience

Required Skills and Knowledge:

•  Good working knowledge of the Long-term / Short-term insurance Act
•  Advanced IFRS consolidation experience within large entities
•  Good understanding of tax principles applicable to Insurance Companies
•  In depth knowledge of GP, Salmon and Hyperion systems
•  Advanced report writing skills and presentation skills
•  Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment
•  Good communication skills.
