    Brief Description

    An excellent opportunity exists for an entrepreneurial, ambitious individual in our Sandton Branch. The position of Business Consultant (also known as Broker Consultant) provides you with the opportunity to flex your business development and marketing skills while effectively determining your own rewards!

    Your role will involve travelling from Old Mutual’s offices to see your panel of Brokers on a regular basis, assisting them to provide holistic, top quality solutions to their clients and grow their practices through value-adding business support.

    You will have the opportunity to build business-yielding relationships with a portfolio of brokers. Broker Distribution has built a sound infrastructure to assist you in delivering the best quality we have to our partners!

    The Business Consultant Has To Fulfil The Following Roles

    • Business Partner
      • Be a full and valued partner in brokers’ practices.
    • Sales Innovator
      • Give brokers new, creative and relevant sales ideas.
    • Campaign Driver
      • Know brokers’ practices intimately and co-create appropriate campaigns.
    • Knowledge Coach
      • Have excellent knowledge of OM products, competitor products, relevant legislation and the industry.
    • Ambassador
      • Proudly promote the Old Mutual brand.
    • Administrator
      • Work in partnership with Distribution Admin Support to ensure that all administrative issues are dealt with proactively and smoothly.
    • Co-ordinator
      • Use resources, networks, systems and practices to ensure that a seamless service is rendered to the broker.

    Job Requirements

    • Grade 12 or equivalent
    • A commercial degree/diploma will be an added advantage.
    • Knowledge of the Financial Services industry is essential
    • Solid experience as a Broker Consultant or in similar role is essential.
    • Proven record of sales success is essential.
    • Code 8 driver’s license and own transport.
    • Excellent planning, negotiation and networking skills.
    • Ability to communicate effectively.
    • The ability to communicate in both English and Afrikaans is essential for certain areas and will be an advantage.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to deal with clients at all levels.
    • Strong achievement orientation.
    • Computer literate (Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
    • Business Acumen.
