Job description

Role Purpose (overall purpose of the role)

Key responsibilities of the role (overall scope - describing the categories of resources controlled, overall results to be achieved, budgets, complexity and contacts, etc.)

• Provide the architectural strategy for applicable solutions.
• Work with solutions architect s to provide consensus based enterprise solutions that are scalable, adaptable and synchronized with customers changing business requirements. Ensure technical completeness of all technical solutions, as proposed.
• Provide key input and guidance towards the reusability of solutions within the regional customer environment, to enable faster future sales turnarounds.
• Direct involvement in the development of policies, standards and guidelines that direct the selection, development, implementation and use of applicable solutions within the Business Unit and towards the Business Units customers.
• Provide key input into and share responsibilities towards sales targets.
• Illicit and develop new solutions within the domain and region, and provide input into sales and marketing collateral.
• Interpret and elicit user requirements through site visits, interviews, workflow analysis, etc.
• Formulate or assist with the formulation of technical solutions including all aspects, for example, physical infrastructure, network design, and functional design, based on user requirements. Server solution design, integrated solution design, etc.
• Proposal drafting, including hardware, network resource costing, etc. (full solution costing)
• Communication with internal and external stakeholders, including presentation of technical solutions.
• Provide oversight in respect of project implementation, ensuring original design criteria are met.
• Provide input into and oversight over sales and technical support (post-sales support), including demonstrations, POC’s, etc, with the technical ability to design, implement and execute such POC’s.
• Post-sales support, where required and provide oversight into continuous improvement.
• Systems testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure proposed solutions meet delivery criteria.
• Software release testing.

Required Pre-requisites

• Experience in the design and deployment of Biometric solutions.
• Knowledge of Biometric market, products and environment/industry.
• Knowledge of server hardware environment (NEC, HP, Dell, IBM).
• Experience in Windows SQL server and Windows server 2012/2012r12.
• Experience in enterprise and solution architectural design.
• Comprehensive knowledge of hardware, software, application, and systems engineering.
• Willingness to travel.
• Experience with storage solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in working across multiple projects simultaneously.

Qualifications

Relevant technical courses related to the Key Responsibilities/competencies and pre-requisites of this role
Knowledge of IT governance and operations
