Job Description

Analyst Programmer Web IT solutions

Accountabilities for this role include Strong .Net Development skills, basic systems analysis and design, strong understanding on web development technologies and platforms, interpreting business requirements and executing test plans. The incumbent is individually accountable for achieving results through own efforts

Key Result Areas:

• Primary focus on production support of incidents and problem
• Ascertaining root cause of incidents
• Fixing bugs and smaller enhancements
• Assists BA and Architect to translate strategic decisions into business solutions.
• Assists with analysis and design of new systems and databases.
• Role includes coding, implementations, testing and system enhancements
• Also includes providing higher technical and programming support
• Co-ordinates time and priorities to ensure that goals are met
• Ability to understand big picture in which business operates
• Standby and after hours support when required
• Have a good working relationship with users, business analysts and other technical staff
• Works with little supervision
• Advises management on best practices and design of new enhancements

• Accountable for service delivery through own efforts with some supervision of other developers
• Individually accountable for managing own time, tasks and output quality for periods of up to 6 months.
• Makes increased contributions by broadening individual skills on new technologies and industry standards

Specifications Development

• Assists with analysis and design of new web systems and databases.
• Develops technical specifications / program specifications and some systems documentation.
• Responsible for basic systems analyst functions..
• Advises Management on effective applications, covering areas such as maintenance, support, man-machine interface ,data management requirements and web technology updates
• Provides sizing and scoping for development work required.
• Designs & documents technical specifications/program specifications.

System Testing

• Assists solution construction including programming, systems testing and correction of programme models. Interprets and executes test plans, or assists in developing test plans in conjunction with Systems Analyst, Senior Analyst Programmer or Business Analyst.
• Performs Unit tests

System Programming

• Develops, tests and implements new systems and system changes in accordance with agreed coding standards and principles.
• Provides development solutions, which maintain the technical integrity of the solution. Performs data conversion.
• Documents system features and functionality. The above is done under limited supervision."

Quality Management

• Ensures technical integrity of the solution.
• Ensures that all system changes align with coding standards and principles

Role Qualifications:

• Matric, with a relevant IT programming qualification/Diploma
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
• 2-3 years or more, solid experience in programming, using ASP, ASP.Net, C#, JavaScript, MVC, .Net 3Net 4.5, JQuery, MS Unity, Windows Workflow, Web Services including WCF
• 2-3 years or more, experience in MS SQL Server (2000 – 2012), with excellent SQL,Linq to SQL and Entity Framework skills
• Understanding on Microsoft Patterns and Practices Architecture ·
• Understanding on Object Orientation design
• Understanding on performance tuning websites in a high transaction environment ·
• Experience with SSIS, Analysis Services, Reporting Services, and Sharepoint will be highly regarded ·
• Overall understanding around web technologies with secure development standard
• Overall understanding around mobile technologies and tools ·
• Ability to deliver as per agreed time standards in high pressure situations ·
• Good system modelling skills will be an advantage.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills ·
