Expat Explore Travel, the leader in budget Europe Coach Travel is looking for a qualified front-end developer that has the skills to take a design from PSD or PNG to completed site in HTML, CSS and JavaScript but can also dabble a little in some PHP back-end in order to get certain basic functionality working for our AB split tests. The individual also needs to be adaptable enough to handle the fast-moving world of JavaScript development and be able to learn new skills rapidly, all to help meet the needs of a busy marketing team and the numerous campaigns we regularly run.

The individual will serve as an important part of the development team as we ensure that the marketing needs of the company are met while building the new generation of software using cutting edge technologies and environments. As the company continues to grow the individual will transition into a role that will help maintain the entire front-end system.

Responsibilities:

• Produce frontends using technologies such as Foundation, WebPack, Bootstrap.
• Have some familiarity with PHP to help in building AB Tests.
• Be able to apply designs provided and build a matching page with CSS3 and HTML5.
• Be able to build interfaces into RESTful API’s.
• Work with integrations into social media API’s.
• Stay up to date with emerging trends and technologies.
• Collaborate with back-end developers and web designers to improve usability
• Assist anywhere else as needed with relation to the front and back end development.
• Is able to assist after hours as and when needed to ensure campaigns run smoothly or newly launched features run smoothly. This does not happen often, however.

Requirements

• 3 years proven experience as a frontend developer.
• Fluent in HTML5, CSS3.
• Fluent in JavaScript (not just jQuery).
• Knowledge of JavaScript frameworks such as Vuejs (or other progressive frameworks) a plus.
• Some knowledge of PHP beneficial.
• Basic understanding of the backend development process including database backends beneficial.
• Familiarity with software like Adobe Suite and Photoshop.
• Profile on Github, Stack Overflow or other developer social platform beneficial.
