    Maintenance Technician

    Job description

    We are looking for a Maintenance Technician for a permanent position to join our team in Pinetown.

    What You’ll Do

    • As a Maintenance Technician you will be responsible for systems and equipment – preventive maintenance schedules, restoring, repairing, rebuilding or replacing faulty or inoperative components and parts. Your responsibilities will include also supervising stuff in the mill.
    • Your Main Tasks And Responsibilities Will Include
    • Accomplishing maintenance human resource objectives by selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counselling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising job contributions; recommending compensation actions; adhering to policies and procedures.
    • Maintaining operational standards by contributing maintenance information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems.
    • Meeting maintenance financial standards by providing annual budget information; monitoring expenditures; identifying variances; implementing corrective actions.
    • Evaluating functionality and reliability of facility systems and associated equipment by conferring with operating departments; identifying problems and requirements.
    • Maintaining function and reliability of facility systems and associated equipment by implementing a preventive maintenance program; operating and testing systems and equipment; restoring, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing faulty or inoperative components and parts.
    • Improving function and reliability of facility systems and associated equipment by studying performance results; identifying, recommending, and implementing changes, expansions, and additions.
    • Maintaining safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal codes and regulations.
    • Updating job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
    • Accomplishing maintenance and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

    Who You Are

    • You have excellent local and good English language skills, both oral and written.
    • You have good practical knowledge of Microsoft package: Word, Excel etc.
    • You are experienced within manufacturing environment, continuous batch processing.
    • You are experienced in leading within a lean manufacturing.
    • You have a good level of knowledge of UPM Raflatac software packages, SAP etc.
    • You have interpersonal and communication skills.
    • You are self-motivated and have ability to motivate others and to lead a production-based team.
    • You have ability to analyse and solve problems in a logical manner.
    • You demonstrate inventiveness and initiative.

    • Position is located in Pinetown.
