Key Responsibility Areas:

• Ensure preliminary Treatment process is monitored, preparing and using regular process chemicals such as lime flocculants.
• Ensure Tertiary Treatment process is monitored, record equipment meter readings (amps, runs hours,pressure etc).
• Collecting samples of the various stages of the treatment process and tanker bays, inserting collection containers and labelling content indicating time and collection points and submitting for analysis.
• Applying instructions and attending to the operation of machinery, plant and ancillary equipment, started,adjustment, and stopping pumping activity or closing/ opening valves and/ or controls.
• Communicating with immediate superior and clarifying specific priority and/ or areas needing attention.
• Transmitting information on water quality, biosolids quality, plant condition, performance, and outcomes and/ or executing specific instructions to address deviation or disruption to process.
• Adherence to department of Water and Sanitations green drop and blue drop requirements.
• Undertaking driving of a relevant Municipal vehicle (plant monitoring, staff transportation on and off site, store consumables, chemicals e.g. HTH, Sodium hypochlorite, polyelectrolyte, lime, deodorisers etc.

Essential Requirements:

• Option 1 Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) (or NTCIII) plus Operators Certificate. 
• Option 2 Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) (or NTCIII) plus Water/ Wastewater Treatment Practice N3. 
• Option 3 NTC III    in Water/ Wastewater Treatment Practise.
• Valid Motor Vehicle Driving License.
• Class III: 3 Years relevant experience.
• Computer literacy (Basic understanding of Microsoft Office packages- Word, Excel and similar applications)

Preferred Requirements:

• National Diploma or National Technical Diploma or NTC VI or 3- Year BSc (in appropriate field).
• Class III: No experience necessary.
• Computer literacy (Basic understanding of Microsoft Office packages Word, Excel and similar applications).
