Introduction

We are looking for a Sponsorship and Activation Specialist to join the Brand & Marketing Team.

Division - Brand and Corporate Affairs

Role Purpose

As the Sponsorship & Activation Specialist, you will be responsible for assisting in delivering our sponsorship initiatives, events and experiential campaigns in order to increase brand awareness and sales. Responsibilities and work outputs

(including however not restricted to)

• Contribute to the sponsorship strategy of Metropolitan and the identification of new sponsorship activities to enhance brand awareness & sales.
• Assist the Sponsorship & Activations Manager in the creation and running of the sponsorship annual events calendar and sponsorship schedule to effectively plan and manage sponsorship events and commitments.
• Liaise with stakeholders in order to obtain sponsorship event and campaign requirements and coordinate sponsorship activation process.
• Manage the development and distribution of sponsorship promotional activities and collateral by coordinating and communicating with relevant stakeholders in line with the brand Corporate Identity (CI).
• Coordinate the events management, logistics (venue hire, transport, catering etc.) and communication (save the date, invitations, teasers etc.) of sponsorship events within approved budget.
• Liaise with various branding, marketing and communications team to promote the event.
• Provide on-site sponsorship event support and coordinate staff and service providers to ensure the event runs smoothly.
• Collaborate with Brand, Marketing and PR teams to ensure synergies between segment/business brand and marketing activities.
• Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders on all sponsorships to optimise brand awareness, Public Relations (PR) opportunities and exposure.
• Perform post sponsorship event evaluations and produce reports for stakeholders.

Experience and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus 2+ years of experience in sponsorship and events management.
• Curious nature and unending desire to expand one's knowledge base in experiential marketing.
• Must have exceptional results orientation and high degree of personal initiative and leadership.
• Self-starter, able to work independently and also collaborate with cross functional team.
• Comfort in juggling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• A good balance of creative and innovative thinking skills coupled with the strategic, analytic,
• operational and practical thinking skills.
• Strong project management skills to ensure internal execution against plans.
• Unparalleled attention to detail with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and work within a deadline driven environment.
• Must have a high degree of creativity to find new, compelling ways to reach and communicate to our audiences.
• Strong written and verbal communication and language skills.

Additional Information

• Knowledge of one/two African languages would be advantageous.
• Extensive travelling will be required(Nationaly-per activation).
