VACANCY - Senior Financial Solutions Investment Manager

EMPLOYMENT TYPE – Permanent

LOCATION: JHB North

THE MONEY: up to > R70 000 per month with good benefits

THE NON NEGOTIABLES

• Fellow of the Faculty of Actuaries or CFA essential (completed or study towards)
• B. Degree (Preferably with Actuarial Science and Finance)
• 5+ years experience in this discipline

CERTIFICATION: FAIS Compliant combined

• MS Office SUPER USER
• 5+ years experience in the Financial Services Industry, of which at least 5 years should have been in an Asset Management capacity
• 3 years experience in a people management position

JOB PURPOSE

To provide technical support to both internal and external clients, developing bespoke investment strategies for clients thereby retaining clients and building relationships

• Client responsibilities
• Development of bespoke investment strategies for clients, including preparation of reports and presentations for clients
• Working with clients’ consultants in a professional manner
• Assist in answering technical investment questions from clients
• Attend client meetings as and when required
• Analysing and presenting asset liability modelling results to clients
• Communication of complex investment issues to trustees
• Annual strategy review for those clients with tailored investment strategies
• Proactive monthly contact with clients
• Client retention
• Maintain up to date client information
• Write meeting notes of all client meetings
• Update CRM database after all client interactions
• Save all client information on the server as per filing convention
• Keep a client Master file
• Mentoring junior members of the team
• Business Development
• Development of new business opportunities using existing industry contacts
• Attending new business pitches as required
• Provide technical support and input into new business department when preparing new business pitches
• Provide necessary assistance to consultancies as and when required with a view to creating opportunities for new business
• Attend industry events with a view to make new business connections
• Research
• Develop knowledge of the investment matters
• Keep abreast of changes in investment industry
• Conduct technical research on topical investment issues
• Writing research papers and articles
• Produce at least 2 major research papers/articles per annum as well as regular smaller research papers
• Team responsibilities
• Input into the strategic direction of the team
• Mentoring junior staff members
• Provide feedback to team members on the quality of work
