Position Synopsis

Health, Safety and Environmental compliance and monitoring.

Requirements

• Serious contenders will have a Degree/BTECH/National Diploma in Safety Management with 5 years’ experience in health and safety in the mining industry;
• Experience with internal and external stakeholders is essential;
• Experience in facilitating of risk assessments is essential;
• Experience with the conducting of general HSE audits is essential;
• Experience in the ICAM methodology of accident investigation is essential;
• A valid driver's license (Code 8 minimum) is essential.

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Review and endorse HSE related content in the
• Contractor quality control plans;
• Monitor existence of medical examinations of all contractor employees;
• Monitors completion of general site and plant specific induction of all contractor employees;
• Monitor the establishment of site HSE requirements;
• Monitor the existence and content of work permits between the Operation and the contractor;
• Conduct and facilitate risk assessments; Conduct general HSE audits on site;
• Monitor implementation of South32 and Regional HSE related standards at the OperatiE);
• Monitor compliance to legal requirements; Responsible for timeous and accurate HSE reporting to relevant internal stakeholders and external authorities.
