Experience:

• 4- 7 years project experience
• Operational plant experience will be beneficial (Operate and/or Maintain)
• Engineering procurement and construction experience is a MUST.
• Being involved with the complete procurement process from tendering, adjudication supplier inspection and commissioning is essential.
• Must have experience in the design and inspections of pressure vessels and pressurized piping systems.
• Engineering and Construction experience is a MUST

Qualifications:

• Only BSc.Eng (Mechanical Engineeering) or B.Eng (Mechanical Engineering) as a minimum will be considered.
• A Project Management and Consulting Engineering company based in Rivonia, Johannesburg, is looking to employ a Mechanical Project Engineer to join their dynamic team..

Role Overview

Completes engineering projects by organizing and controlling projects elements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop Equipment (Vessels, Tanks, Rotating and Piping) specifications by studying applicable design codes and standards, customer requirements and performance standards; completing technical studies and preparing cost estimates.
• Manage complete procurement process of all mechanical items from specification through to commissioning.
• Ensure Quality of equipment is specified and managed during the procurement and installation phases.
• Manage and ensure integration of equipment on the project specifcally with regards to Civil, Structural, Electrical and C&I interfaces.
• Must be able to manage each of the mechanical packages according to Cost, Schedule and Quality objectives
• Must be able to deputise as the Project Manager if required.
• Must be hands-on and willing to proactively resolve mechanical scope in design office, manufactures facilities and construction site.
• Developing periodic reports detailing progress of mechanical equipment.
