Job description

An opening has arisen for a passionate, energetic and performance driven Sales Representative based in the Western Cape Region.

You as the successful candidate will be responsible for the successful launch, promotion and sales of your specific product range to Orthopaedic Surgeons and Operating room theatre staff. The continuing education in the correct application and usage of these products in the sales territory allocated to the incumbent is paramount.

You will need to be technically competent and aware of what their competitors are doing to ensure that they maintain the competitive edge.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

• To attain and exceed targeted sales.
• To develop and maintain a regular calling pattern and to report accordingly.
• To ensure that all customers are fully cognisant of the product range.
• To attend regular ward rounds to give technical advice.
• To monitor competitive activity.

You will need to:

• Be strong, confident – able to challenge Doctors
• Be able to talk the lingo so a medical background is essential i.e. complete understanding of anatomy
• Have a sales personality – Be passionate about selling and is more importantly able to sell.
• Be able to take the initiative, have insight and strong analytical ability
• Be intelligent – both academically and socially
• Be willing to clean Equipment after surgery etc.
• Wants Trauma as a passion/Career not a stepping stone – looking for someone who wants to be in trauma for the long term
• Be sales orientated but understands the value and importance of building and maintaining relationships and most importantly about the importance of SERVICE.
• Be willing to work over time

Requirements

Education

• Matric
• Tertiary qualification (preferably in the medical field)

Experience

• Proven sales experience in pharmaceuticals/surgical devices
• Theatre exposure would be preferable
• Orthopaedic exposure would be advantageous
