    Site Solutions Manager

    Job Description:

    • The Site Solutions Manager will be assigned to a mining customer site(s) where they will serve as the primary point of contact for the customer, dealer, and all internal Caterpillar stakeholders. Their primary responsibility will be to manage the overall site performance and deliver on customer expectations. This role is pivotal in addressing customer business needs by developing and delivering solutions opportunities.
    • The Site Solutions Manager will play a crucial role in understanding the customer's needs, applications, future mine plans, and ensuring that Caterpillar's solutions align with the customer’s goals. By creating and leading dotted-line site teams, they will leverage enterprise-wide resources to identify solutions that deliver customer-driven site goals. Their ability to oversee business risks, escalate issues as needed, and establish effective communication plans will be essential in driving a world class customer experience
    • This position works in partnership with Commercial Managers, Product Support Managers and other enterprise resources to monitor, manage, and resolve issues related to customer productivity, cost, and safety. They will act as a recognized advocate for the customer, securing the commitment of Caterpillar and dealer resources to ensure continued customer satisfaction. Additionally, they will consult with various departments within Caterpillar to stay informed about the evolving direction and strategies of key industry leaders.
    • Their efforts will have a direct impact on the customer base, driving customer development and retention, and ultimately will contribute to the overall success of Caterpillar's business at the site.

    Work location: Johannesburg, South Africa

    What you will do:

    • Serve as the primary point of contact for the customer and dealer at the site and centralized engineering departments.
    • Manage day-to-day relationships at the site(s).
    • Intimately know and understand the customer, their applications, needs, and future mine site plans.
    • Liaise and direct all internal Caterpillar enterprise resources to ensure alignment among groups such as Change Management, Safety Services, Fleet Management, Product Support, Condition Monitoring, Site Performance Managers, MineStar Site Managers, etc.
    • Act as a consultant to dealer and customer operations and maintenance managers as well as executive management advising on strategic direction for proper solutions selection, business risk management, equipment management, and operations activities.
    • Oversee Caterpillar business risk and escalate issues as needed.
    • Establish and execute communication plans with the site, dealer, and Caterpillar.
    • Deliver performance through relentless execution.
    • Monitor, manage, report on, and resolve issues related to customer satisfaction, product health, and future solutions needs.
    • Create and maintain an active "window into Cat" for key customer decision makers.
    • Gather key customer VOC for incorporation into solutions design, Product Problem Resolutions and/or New Product Introduction.
    • Act as a recognized advocate for customers in securing the commitment of Caterpillar and Dealer resources to assure continued customer satisfaction.
    • Consult with various departments within Caterpillar regarding the evolving direction and strategies that key industry leaders are adopting for the future.

    • Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers. Must have strong emotional intelligence, possessing the ability to work with people from many different backgrounds and cultures, internally and externally, with the appropriate influence and ability to resolve differences at dealer and customer operational level.
    • Technical Excellence: Knowledge of a broad range of Caterpillar and dealer offerings and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.

    Basic Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
    • 10+ years of mining-related application and operations experience.
    • Previous field experience or account management experience.
    • Ability to align incentives and goals tied to site performance.
    • Project management experience.
    • English Pre Advanced

    Digital Marketing Consultant - Africa

    • We are looking for a Digital Marketing Consultant - Africa to join our Customer Solutions & Engagement team within one of Construction Industries’ newly formed divisions: Customer Solutions Growth Regions.

    About Customer Solutions Growth Regions Division

    • This team, alongside dealers, engages closely with customers to create, customize, and adapt solutions to meet their needs by leveraging the extensive range of offerings available today—across products and services, digital and technology, rental and used, and financing.
    • The division is regionally focused on Africa, the Middle East, Eurasia, Asia (excluding Japan), and Latin America (LATAM) and organized into three functional areas: Customer Facing, Customer Solutions, and Business Enablers.
    • This role will serve as a regional marketing advisor and execution leader, shaping and delivering integrated marketing communications that accelerate dealer-led growth, customer engagement and demand generation across diverse African markets.

    Role Definition:

    • Partners closely with regional leadership, dealers, and global marketing teams to translate Customer Solutions Growth Regions strategy into scalable, customer‑back marketing programs—with strong emphasis on lead quality, digital enablement, and measurable commercial impact.

    What You Will Do (Responsibilities):

    Regional Marketing Communications Strategy

    • Develop and execute an Africa-wide marketing communications strategy aligned to CSGR go‑to‑market priorities.
    • Translate global value propositions into locally relevant, customer‑centric messaging that reflects market maturity, customer needs, and dealer capability.
    • Ensure consistent positioning across products, solutions, technologies, and services, while allowing local adaptation.

    Dealer Enablement & Co‑Marketing

    • Act as a marketing consultant to dealers, guiding them on campaign planning, messaging, and execution.
    • Influence dealers to adopt retail‑focused, demand‑driven marketing approaches across the customer journey
    • Support dealers in improving lead generation, follow‑up discipline, and conversion effectiveness.

    Demand Generation & Campaign Execution

    • Plan and deploy integrated marketing campaigns supporting:
    • New product introductions
    • Industry and segment growth priorities
    • Technology, digital, and service adoption
    • Leverage a mix of digital, social, content, and event‑based channels appropriate to African markets.
    • Ensure campaigns are outcome‑driven, with clear objectives tied to pipeline and sales impact.

    Digital & Customer Engagement Focus

    • Drive increased use of digital marketing and engagement platforms to improve reach, efficiency, and scalability.
    • Partner with digital and CRM teams to support:
    • Lead capture and management
    • Customer segmentation and targeting
    • Customer journey and experience improvements
    • Promote best practices that improve customer engagement quality

    Customer Insights & Market Intelligence

    • Collect and synthesize insights on:
    • Customer behavior and buying drivers
    • Industry and market trends
    • Competitive positioning
    • Use insights to refine messaging, prioritize investments, and guide leadership decisions.

    Agency & Budget Management

    • Manage regional agencies and external partners with clear KPIs and accountability.

    What Will Put You Ahead (Preferred Skills):

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field.
    • 7 - 10+ years of marketing or marketing communications experience, preferably in B2B, industrial, or complex dealer‑based environments.
    • Experience in Africa or other Growth Regions.
    • French or Arabic language proficiency - added advantage
    • Knowledge of dealer‑led go‑to‑market models.
    • Familiarity with CRM, marketing automation, and lead management concepts.
    • Experience translating global strategies into local execution.
    • Exposure to Caterpillar products, services, or similar industrial solutions (preferred, not required).

    Demonstrated experience in:

    • Integrated marketing campaigns
    • Dealer or channel marketing
    • Digital and lead‑based marketing programs
    • Strong ability to work cross‑culturally and cross‑functionally in a regional role.
    • Proven communication, influencing, and stakeholder‑management skills.
