Job description

We are looking for a driven Social Media Trainee who will report to a team leader. This is a new and exciting role for the business with a wide variety of duties with the overall aim of supporting and delivering social campaigns for a number of brands.

The trainee will be required to support the team leader with the following:

• Building and executing a social media strategy for the various brands.
• Generate, edit and share engaging content that builds meaningful connections.
• Analyse performance of posts using data/metrics and insights to produce activity reports and develop an optimal posting schedule.
• Study trends in social media, research popular social media platforms and study emerging social media tools to identify opportunities to increase visibility within target markets.
• Facilitate online conversations with customers and respond to queries.
• Report on online reviews and feedback from customers and fans.
• Manage websites to ensure content is relevant and current.
• Manage brand helpline and responding to customer queries.
• Building and maintaining relationships with bloggers and online communities.
• Collaborate with design and marketing departments to coordinate actions.

Educational pre-requisites:

• A completed marketing degree or Honours degree (with modules covering Social Media)
• At least C in Core Maths in Matric (please do not apply if you do not fulfil this criterion)
• Great team working skills
• Advanced computer skills
