    International Tax Manager

    Job description

    ROLE PURPOSE:

    To provide assistance to the Group Head of Tax

    SPECIFIC OUTCOMES / ACCOUNTABILITY:

    • Reviewing the CbCR reports for the region under your management
    • Maintaining the spreadsheet for the annual controlled foreign company returns and making improvements thereto in relation to the companies under your management
    • Reviewing the annual controlled foreign company returns for the region under your management
    • Reviewing forecast and budget calculations for controlled foreign company imputations to assess if any tax liability should be included in the budget, forecast and provisional tax payments for the holding company for the region under your management
    • Reviewing local tax computations, returns etc and advice secured by local management for the region under your management
    • Reviewing responses prepared by management in response to queries raised by the tax authorities for the region under your management
    • Reviewing annual tax reporting pack for tax technical accuracy for the region under your management
    • Reviewing the annual financial statements to ensure tax compliance for the region under your management
    • Reviewing legal agreements to ensure tax compliance for the region under your management
    • Ensuring all intra-group legal agreements have been entered into by companies under your management
    • Notifying the International tax manager: transfer pricing of any additional benchmark studies that are required due to the transactions that have been entered into by companies under your management
    • Reviewing board resolutions to ensure tax compliance for the region under your management
    • Reviewing database to ensure it is up to date for the region under your management
    • Assisting with the preparation of responses to international tax and transfer pricing queries that are raised by the tax authority for the region under you management
    • International tax research including corporate tax and all indirect taxes for the region under your management
    • Assessing tax implications of proposed trade routes for the region under your management
    • Notifying local management of tax developments in the region under your management
    • Issuing of opinions and drafting/reviewing board notes for the region under your management
    • Maintaining a tax risk register for the region under your management
    • Assisting with strategic tax projects
    • Assisting with any other projects that are allocated to you by the Group Head of Tax

    Requirements

    QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

    • Bcom/ LLB/ CA (SA).
    • Masters in International Tax an advantage.
    • + 5 years experience in an international tax consulting role, or in the commercial environment.
