    Regional Sales Manager

    Job description

    Roche Diagnostics in Midrand is seeking a Regional Sales Manager to implement sales and revenue growth for the assigned product portfolios (RPD/RMD/RTD/RAS) and assigned clients in line with assigned sales budgets and targets and in alignment with global and local marketing and sales strategies, guidelines and requirements.

    Your role will entail:

    • In line with marketing strategies, determine, develop, implement and monitor sales and growth within assigned clients in order to ensure optimum achievement of set sales targets and growth potential. Attend and represent Roche at specific customer functions in order to maintain and further build the customer relationship and influence product brand awareness.
    • Serve as an interface with local governments, funders and international organizations within the assigned territory and monitor and evaluate country specific environmental issues with regard to healthcare and legislation and provide feedback to Market Access team for government lobbying activities.
    • Develop and maintain strong Client and KOL relationships through regular presence to determine and influence the Export Distributor’s business requirements and growth strategies as well as ascertain market trends, risks & competitor insights. Identify and implement, in conjunction with Export Distributors and/or marketing agents, agreed continuous improvement strategies to increase the efficiency/productivity and profitability of sales activities and achievement of KPIs.
    • Lead, drive and project manage solutions selling activities for identified new sales opportunities within new possible clients or new products or channel filling opportunities within existing clients with relevant internal stakeholders (product manager, business development, application specialists, commercial (finance) management for exports, technical services, etc.). Act as the 1st line of contact to Clients in regard to any customer service matters associated with client and ensure that relevant internal stakeholders address customer queries/requirements in accordance with SOPs.
    • Ensure accurate sales information is provided to the relevant internal stakeholders in order to ensure accurate tender and pricing negotiations for the defined period as well as effective contract terms and conditions negotiations and management.
    • Monitor market and customer movements in order to react effectively and proactively to any changes.
    • Ensure that Export Distributor marketing (sales) agents have sufficient capacity to support local export markets, including sales force and technical responsibility (application & service).
    • Plan and facilitate training and development of local export distributor’s sales agents, both for the agents and Roche employed personnel.
    • Ensure promotional activities are implemented for existing and new clients in collaboration with internal stakeholders and export distributor marketing agents in order to market and promote Roche services and products.
    • Monitor and control the sales budget (operational costs) and ensure timeous input and accurate reporting into Salesforce (or related systems) to provide internal stakeholders with relevant business information.

    Desired Skills and Experience

    • You, as an ideal candidate, will have the following skills, experience and education:
    • Required Qualification: Matric with a National Diploma or University Degree in Medical Sciences or equivalent (NQF 6 upwards).
    • A Business Management qualification will be an advantage.

    Required Experience:

    • Atleast 8 years commercial experience in the medical industry with at least 5 years in an account management role.
    • A strong working knowledge of commercial aspects of exporting and / or working experience in the Africa market is required.
