    We are excited to have established a brand new team in Cape Town and we’re looking for experienced Underwriters to join us.

    As an Underwriter at TAL you will be working with and supported by our specialist team in Australia including Underwriting Managers , our Chief Medical Officer and Forensic Accountant, who will work with you and the wider team to ensure maintenance of TAL’s risk philosophy and profitability through sound underwriting standards.

    To be successful in your application we are looking for the following skills and experience:

    • Demonstrated underwriting expertise gained from working in a similar position
    • A comprehensive understanding of the life insurance industry, including any new approaches or practices being introduced
    • Working knowledge of professional standards and codes
    • Strong medical, financial and systems knowledge
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with overseas stakeholders
    • Ability to work autonomously
    • High attention to detail
