Job description

Your responsibilities

• System level design of electronic interlocking and radio block center specific applications with safety requirements
• Production, reviewing and interpreting Basic Design documents such as track and signal plans, interlocking tables and interface specifications
• Decide about technical solutions related to specific applications following applicable internal and external rules and regulations
• Participate in bids representing the Basic Design area of expertise
• Compose pre-studies and investigations related to Basic Design
• Support to software, hardware and test engineering regarding specific application functionality

Qualifications

• B. Eng. (Electronic) or B. Tech. (Electronic) degree or equivalent
• Registered or immediately registrable with the Engineering Council of South Africa as Pr. Eng. or Pr. Tech.
• Experience in producing or reviewing signaling basic designs including line/cable plans, control sheets, element connection diagrams etc.
• Experience in working with CAD highly desirable
• Software programing knowledge desirable
• Good knowledge of the railway signaling principles
