    National Sales Manager

    Job description

    The position of National Sales Manager is responsible for leading Business Consultants (BCs) and Key Account Managers (KAMs) nationally to meet or exceed company goals for profitable revenue growth within each of the BCs and KAMs assigned business/sales portfolios. The National Sales Manager will be responsible for the management of territories, vertical markets and the key account list. The National Sales Manager will provide strategic direction for the BCs and KAMs and will manage relationships with other staff functions (academic staff) to ensure appropriate resources are available and focused to support the selling objectives.

    Main responsibilities include:

    • Collaborate with marketing, the academics, R&D and the management team to define the overall sales strategy that will position the sales branches, the BCs and KAMs and the specialist sales functions to optimally grow the business through the various sales channels
    • Develop and implement annual sales plans by BC, KAM and customer account in line with the sales strategy and according to the company revenue targets
    • Select, manage and develop the sales team to meet or exceed specific goals for profitable revenue growth
    • Develop an annual sales training plan, working with BC’s and KAM’s on all aspects of the sales process
    • Manage the company's sales process to establish a culture of consultative selling to customers’ decision-makers at all levels
    • Cultivate and maintain effective business relationships with executive decision makers in key account companies and other external customers.
    • Identify and pursue business prospects, participating actively in the planning and sales process for new business opportunities in terms of new corporate customers
    • Participate in the development of new products and solutions responsive to the client's business requirements. Apply research insights and provide input into advertising solutions based on the company's business strengths
    • Perform all other duties as required to maintain and grow profitable business within the assigned account base.

    Requirements include:

    • Oral and written communication skills
    • Consultative selling skills
    • Ability to understand and apply market intelligence to sales strategy
    • High level of financial and business acumen
    • Staff management, consulting and relationship building skills
    • Ability to use technology and analysis tools (Excel, Outlook, web, databases)
    • Ability to influence senior decision-makers
    • Minimum of ten years of business to business sales experience is required, with at least five years of sales management experience for global, national, or key strategic account business
    • Experience in the Education sector (preferred)
    • Knowledge and understanding in Banking and/ or; Financial Planning and/or Insurance; Management and Leadership (preferred)
    • An MBA or Bachelor's degree in marketing, economics or related field is preferred
    • Able to travel nationally
