Senior Product Manager - Merchant Portals at MFS Africa

Job description

We are seeking a bright, experienced and motivated Senior Product Manager.

As a B2B platform company, we aggregate Mobile Money operators across Africa to process cross-border remittances, airtime top-ups, e-commerce and bill payments; all driven by our API.

The role

We have an exciting opportunity in our Product team to take ownership of our key portals; Partner and Value Transfer. As a Senior Product Manager you'll drive the innovation and evolution around these portals.

You'll get to work across our whole organization, from the commercial team, to compliance, finance, operations and development, to understand and solve our users' pain points. You will actively collaborate with our key stakeholders in the market: Mobile Networks, Financial Institutions and Merchants.

You will need to quickly build a detailed, in-depth understanding of how our solutions work, and an innovative, out-of-the-box approach to solving how to provide the right solutions to our e-commerce and bill payment merchants, as well as MNOs.

We're looking for people with strong background or interest in building innovative, scalable merchant offerings in the Mobile Financial Services space. You're comfortable in dealing with lots of moving pieces. You take pride in producing high quality documentation and you're comfortable with taking ownership and delivering under pressure.

This position is based in Johannesburg.

Job activities

• Write stellar product/business requirements documents and ensure clear communication and coordination of requirements with the business, design and development teams
• Contribute to the overall product roadmap, and manage prioritization and tradeoffs against developer experience, customer experience, and time to market
• Produce use cases, workflows, wireframes, design briefs and other materials needed to support UX design and back-end development
• Create buy-in for the product vision both internally and with key external partners
• Establish business processes and policies as well as metrics and indicators for success
• Assess customer needs and pain points to build products, tools, and technology to address problems and improve the overall customer experience
