Overview

We are looking to recruit for a permanent Junior Buyer to work for United Pharmaceutical Distributors (UPD). The role will be based in Lea Glen and will report to the Supply Chain Executive.

Purpose and Objectives

Job Purpose:

Responsible for the procurement of frontshop/FMCG products, contributing to the profitability of UPD through building strong supplier relationships, efficient procurement, storage, assembly and distribution of products.

Job Objectives:

• Stock availability
• Customer in fill
• Reduction of regrets
• Achievement of monthly stock target
• Short dated stock – minimizing stock write offs
• Expediting orders
• Promotional price accuracy

Requirement

REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION

• Grade 12
• Degree or 3 year National Diploma in Business / Purchasing / Supply Chain / Finance / Retail Management
• Experience in dealing with suppliers
• Experience in working in high pressure environments

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO DO THE JOB

• 2 to 3 years buying experience in a retail environment (essential)
• Managing objectives (essential)
• Pharmaceutical buying experience (desirable)
