    Manager: Equities & Equity Derivatives

    Job Summary    
    A vacancy exists at the JSE in Sandton for Strategic Sourcing Specialist and purpose of the role is to support execution of category management, strategic sourcing, contracting and supplier management activities across various categories in the JSE enabling a procurement function that will support the head of procurement and deliver on relevant scorecard deliverables on the CFO and the CEO's scorecard.

    Responsibilities / Outputs    

    • Provide strategic thinking and contributions to crafting of 1 - 3 year Procurement business plan based on professional knowledge and experience, to ensure delivery of focus areas for the year in support of divisional and JSE strategy
    • Apply cost effectiveness principles in planning and delivery to contribute to achievement of divisional financial targets and own cost reduction targets/policies to implement/contracts to review and approve
    • Implement plans to assure orders meet specified quality and delivery times, minimise the total cost of purchases and contracts are review, approved and implemented that shows a JSE bottom line impact and process efficiencies
    • Provide input into the formalisation for the divisional budget
    • Manage allocated budget through monitoring and seeking cost effective ways to achieve departmental goals
    • Ensure systems, products or projects delivered contributes to improve client/JSE service by providing input on budgets, resources required and process based on the understanding of costs, business objectives and relationship with external suppliers and stakeholders
    • Provide informed input to business on the number of suppliers / contracts, expiry dates as well as market analysis on products and suppliers as part of strategic sourcing and procurement function
    • Contribute as professional taking responsibility for both operational and strategic initiatives
      Provide specialist knowledge and educate business units regarding standard procurement policies
    • Communicate effectively with employees at all levels in the organisation, external business partners and vendors to build and maintain stakeholder relationships
    • Build and maintain relationships with internal business units
    • Drive Supplier Relationship Management in managing supplier relationships to ensure collaboration throughout the contracting process
    • Build strategic JSE / Industry/ Global network of thought leaders and relationships utilising social media, attending and presenting at conferences and training interventions
    • Manage Supplier relationships by establishing and maintaining rapport with all levels of supplier personnel and internal customers
    • Manage own delivery against agreed delivery plan and set timelines, identify obstacles to delivery and take appropriate action where required
    • Ensure that work is delivered consistently to plan through regular progress update meetings with business
    • Create and maintain an up to date, visible and accessible repository of procurement contract information indicating vendor, contract value, goods or services for which the contract exists; as well as flags indicating upcoming contract renewal or termination
    • Prepare and administer correspondence and contract documentation throughout the life cycle of a contract, including termination and contract closeout activities
    • Deliver efficient and effective contract management services to the stakeholders through determining the urgency, importance, impact and resource implications
    • Ensure adherence to the JSE Standard by following JSE standard process and policies and solicit legal advice where necessary
    • Partner with business from a procurement perspective through ensuring understanding of business requirement by conducting negotiation, research, investigation to understand commercial and business requirements
    • Enhance third party agreement while complying to legal agreement standards and get legal representative approval continuously to take into account any changes in legislation, service requirements and financial obligations, etc.
    • Advise business on contracting options, terms and conditions to ensure optimal procurement contractual terms for the JSE
    • Draft procurement contract templates and conduct maintenance thereof with Legal department supports to vet templates and final agreements
    • Support the Head of Procurement in creating contracts within the framework of the strategic sourcing process with Legal department supports to vet templates and final agreements
    • Support the internal stakeholders in achieving their procurement business results through appropriate engagement with relevant vendors
    • Communicate contract negotiations, request for proposals, reports etc. deadlines as agreed with business and estimated completion dates to all stakeholders through collaborative on-going communication
    • Respond to requests for relevant information, quotations, proposals, and bidding processes to meet stakeholder needs
    • Negotiate with relevant suppliers to meet quality, delivery and cost objectives of JSE
    • Negotiate contracts with suppliers on behalf of business and drive contract development process in coordination with the Head of Procurement and Legal department
    • Establish supplier base in conformance with guidance from the Head of Procurement to create supplier segmentation based on spend and risk

    Experience  

    •  7+ years’ experience in Strategic Sourcing within corporate purchasing environment
