    ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR, MARKETS & PERFORMANCE EUROPE, AFRICA & ASIA SOUTH AFRICA

    Job description

    Reporting to the Regional Vice President, Africa – Management Accounting, the new Associate Director will be responsible for contributing to the long term African strategy and helping drive transformational growth to achieve CIMA’s overall strategic objectives in Africa.

    The successful candidate will also be responsible for the development and achievement of CIMA’s student recruitment in emerging markets (rest of Africa) to achieve its principal strategic objectives in maximising long term membership growth.

    Additional Key Responsibilities will also include, but are not limited to:

    • To manage both the learning and development function in Africa and the contact centre to ensure both high quality customer service and experience as well progression through the qualification.
    • Design and implement the emerging markets strategy, annual plan and budget,
    • Ownership of the plans and budgets for the rest emerging markets (rest of Africa) to meet KPIs.
    • Contribute to developing and delivering strategy to effect transformational growth in student numbers in emerging markets (rest of Africa) and exponentially increase the numbers of CIMA members.
    • Develop the brand awareness in emerging markets(rest of Africa) ensuring appropriate marketing and communications plans are in place, in conjunction with the Marketing team
    • Maintain and develop senior contacts amongst targeted employers, education providers and professional bodies to promote CIMA in Emerging markets (rest of Africa).
    • Identify potential that will maximise opportunities for CIMA, in terms of generating revenue streams, attracting, qualifying and retaining CIMA students and members and increasing CIMA’s brand profile.
    • To be a member of the regional management team in support of the Regional Vice President Africa
    • To work in partnership with the country heads in Africa to achieve global KPIs.
    • Manage the provision of services to CIMA students and members
    • To provide support for students in their progression through the examination process to membership and provide networking opportunities and career guidance for students.
    • Develop accessibility to the CIMA qualification, across the emerging markets (rest of Africa) through quality tuition provision, exam centres and employer support.
    • Manage the Regional Learning and Development function to support tuition providers in the recruitment of students and delivery of high quality CIMA tuition to lead to required exam pass rates and progression in Africa.
    • Analyse student and member activity to deepen the relationship that CIMA has with students and members; to gain greater involvement in their careers.
    • Implement business development strategy in line with the Global Corporate relations plan.
    • To report financial and business performance of the region in an accurate and timely manner, make appropriately analysed financial decisions and provide required management information to the Regional Vice President as directed.

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Ideally CIMA/MBA, Commerce or business related university degree or relevant professional qualification
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal and networking skills, with the ability to negotiate and present through engaging, influencing and supporting the selling process.
    • Ability to work within a multi-cultural environment with inspirational leadership and management skills so to drive the strategic objectives of CIMA in emerging markets and the wider African Region
    • Strong knowledge of the education sector and regulations
    • Significant operational and business development experience, with a good track record of working at a senior managerial level.
    • Significant people management experience, in particular managing and motivating large teams engaged in diverse activities but with a common goal. Also managing remote teams
