    Compliance Analyst

    Job description

    Our Platform

    As a B2B platform company, we aggregate Mobile Money operators across Africa to process cross-border remittances, airtime top-ups, e-commerce and bill payments; all driven by our API.

    The role

    We have an exciting opportunity in our Compliance team to take ownership of our monitoring and reporting requirements. As a Compliance Analyst, you’ll ensure the day to day AML monitoring.

    You’ll get to work across all regulatory monitoring requirements including KYC, transaction monitoring and sanction screening. You will actively collaborate with our key stakeholders in the market: Mobile Networks, Financial Institutions and Merchants.

    We’re looking for people with a strong background relating to AML monitoring and reporting, be comfortable in meeting strict deadlines. You take pride in producing high quality documentation and you’re comfortable with taking ownership and delivering under pressure.

    This position is based in Johannesburg.

    Job activities

    • Participate in the execution of the company AML program from a CDD, monitoring and advisory perspective.
    • Provide advice regarding compliance requirements in contracts and negotiations.
    • Ongoing review customers KYC to ensure compliance
    • Monitoring and analyses of suspicious transactions.
    • Analyses and processing of alerts related to sanctions and PEPs

    Requirements

    YOU MIGHT BE A GOOD FIT IF YOU

    • Have 3 years of proven track record in transaction/customer monitoring and reporting
    • Have a sound understanding of PEPs and sanctions
    • Have or studying toward a law degree/ qualification
    • Are English & French speaking
    • Are passionate about consistency and high-quality documentation relating to KYC.
    • Thrive in a diverse, collaborative environment involving different stakeholders and subject matter experts
    • Can work autonomously in a highly demanding and often ambiguous environment
